Bummer. But this is far from the first time I see this on various message boards I frequent. Long-time users passing away. I'm "only" 42, but it makes me feel old nonetheless.

I'm an old school cockroach. Not one to go to Twit-er or crap-book. Still here looking over this desolate land.

As for the team, I've learned not to get too involved in WHO's on the team, just sit back and enjoy people half my age skate around and trying to put some rubber in the opening provided.

Been working from home since March 16. It's actually a combination of work from home and "code 699", depending on the needs of the day.

Healthy otherwise (as far as I know), and getting a little bored with no hockey or football to watch (I usually always have one or the other, depending on the time of year).

When your biggest issue is sweaty balls, then it's a good summer indeed. :)

And when the current young players are good enough, they will all be traded away for the "future"...

What do you mean? The monkey is still there.

Myself, things haven't changed that much. Same wife, same job, same hobbies. Hell, I even still look the same, with only a few gray hair added to it. (and a few extra pounds) :laugh2:

The only things that has really changed is finally buying a house (condo, actually) 4 years ago.

The fact that Turris wasn't going to re-sign with Ottawa makes this a little easier to understand. They gave up a little more than I think the value is, but overall I'm going to wait a couple of years before making any real judgement on this trade.

It's basically out with Kelly, in with Thompson. An improvement, but certainly nothing earth-shattering.

First time I hear of it. But if that's the case, that's a big chunk of cap space freed. Major free agent could be signed in his stead this summer...

There's no way Vegas takes Ryan. Not with that contract.

Methot is a victim of the numbers game. Personally I don't see the obsession with Ceci and would have exposed him instead of Methot.

The frustrating part is that Boucher is supposed to be a powerplay specialist.

You can protect either 6 forwards, 3 d-men and a goalie, or 8 skaters and a goalie. First and second year players are exempt (White, Harpur, etc). In Ottawa's case, due to his contract, Phaneuf must be protected. So when you consider Karlsson will be protected, that leaves one spot for either Methot or Ceci. It's rumored that Dorion will ask Dion to waive his no-(whatever) clause, so as to expose him and his hefty contract with the belief that Vegas won't take him due to his contract.

Straight from the horses' mouth re: rules of the draft

Wingles, Kelly and Neil won't be back.

One of Wideman or Claesson will likely be taken by Vegas.

Looks like Condon will take his decent season and try to cash in on the free agent market. He's likely gone too.

Stalberg and Pyatt might stick around, as Boucher seemed to really like them.

White, Chabot, Harpur will likely graduate.

Where is the bloody heart? When you're down like that, at least show some emotions. This team has given up and is playing ***** hockey.

And it's not just game-to game. It's often period-to period.

Hell, the same team will play like world beaters half a period, then suddenly forget how to make 10-foot passes, can't clear the puck and be hemmed in their zone for minutes at a time.
