Sorry to hear that Bonesy.

It sucks, but at the same time, given the situation, it probably is a good thing.

You see, my boss is running in the next federal election, he is just too busy with the demands of being a candidate, planning events, canvassing, etc. that he has no time to practice law anymore and is forced to close his doors.  Now, the understanding is that while I am unemployed, and collecting EI, (which i obviously confirmed eligibility for already), I will continue to look for work while volunteering for my boss on his campaign.  Should he get elected I will get hired on his staff, but I am not to turn down any jobs that I may be offered while unemployed.  But should I find a job and he get elected afterward, he still is extending the opportunity to work for him.

We'll see how it all goes, politics is difficult to get into so I am not holding my breath and really hope to find work in the next couple of weeks. Some real good positions are available for me to apply for right now, just one thing that may be a bitch is that I don't speak french.

So, here's a topper for you all.

Being the only employee of a business closing it's doors.  Ultimately meaning I am the one who processes the termination of my own employment.

Where did your boss go?  Can't just up and close shop without doing some work himself. :)

He's a liberal candidate in the next federal election.  Whenever that is.

Or a cushy job posting if he does get elected.  Oh crap, isn't that what got Larry O'Brien in trouble?

I gave my boss the numbers of what I would be expecting with my last week of pay and my 3 weeks vacation less 1 day of already used for 2010.  His jaw dropped.

He's not giving it to me in exchange for dropping out as a candidate.

Yup, those damn phones were a deal breaker LOL.

It seems out of the blue for most, but knowing where the firm was financially the writing was on the wall for the past 6 months or so since he started the effort to get nominated as candidate and has since become the candidate.

My son had one. He got pulled over way to many times.  Now that he has an Elantra he is pretty much left alone.
Time passes, things change, the Sens WILL WIN the CUP.
