I know this has been done before, but the last fundraiser we did on Sensnetwork was over 2 years ago, and while the sponsors pay part of the bills, it's not enough. Now, I want to make it perfectly clear that whether someone donates or not will never in any way, shape or form affect your access to the site. We realize that some people can't afford to donate, be it because they're students or whatever, and that's alright.
However, once the donation money runs out (there's not much of it left), the cost of hosting the site falls on the shoulders of BlindDruid. In the spirit of openness, here are the costs associated with keeping this place running: hosting is $30 per month, and optional extra support (helps fix any problem faster should they arise, and they have) is $50 per year. This gives a total slightly over $400 Canadian per year.
Also, to make things more interesting throughout the season, we like to have contests where members can win a prize. The money to pay for those prizes also comes from the site's funds. A couple years ago, we gave away a Sens jersey to the winner of a 2-month Predict The Score contest (Classmate was the winner), and we would like to do something similar again this year.
Anyway, we would appreciate it if those of you who can afford it would make a donation to help cover the costs of running Sensnetwork. If the top 100 users each donated only $10, we could pay for the site for 2 years and have some money left over for prizes. You can rest assured that none of the money raised makes its way in any of the staff's pockets. It all goes towards the site.
So if you can help us out, simply click on the 'donate' button near the top of the page (just under the search box), or alternatively, simply click this link for instruction.
