Well, who plays it?

And what mods are you running?

Right now I've got the NHL Depot's 2004 final roster updates, Calgary flames "sea of red" fans, calgary flames red jersey, updated goalie mask model, updated goalie mask art.

I think that's it.

I have the damndest time scoring with the Sens....really pisses me off!

We are talking about ESPN and not EA right?....cause EA sucks.

Sadly enough....the team I score the most with....is probably Toronto...But seeing those ugly blue jerseys makes me wanna go sit in a corner and watch my toe nails grow...so I use them the least possible!

EA f'n rules... and I don't just say that cause I live in Vancouver.. where EA is a HUGE business. A very good friend of mine is the head of audio for the FIFA franchise.. so that may bias me a little... but in all my experience, EA really does the best job of realism for sporting games. Having said that... the NHL 2004 game pisses me off. I can never win the scoring title cause it seems every year (regardless of difficulty setting) there's players that win the Richard Trophy with 90-100 goals and the Art Ross is won by someone racking up 215-230 pts. There was one game result that scrolled across the bottom of the screen that was like LA 18- PHI 6 and another was StL 16 - CGY 13. That's rediculous.. they need to fix that up. If you're playing in the difficult mode there's no way you should be eeking out a 2-1 win.. while another team is crushing their opponent by 10 goals.. and that happens every night.

you have obviously not played ESPN then... I'm just talking EA's hockey when I say it sucks...I was always a long time EA player until I got my hands on ESPN Hockey....buddy, you wanna see realism, the game play is miles ahead of EA's! The only thing that EA has on ESPN is the franchise/Dynasty mode!

I had the roster updates, but did not reinstall them when I formated my pc. Screws up online play.

I do however have facepack files so along with those updated roster packs the players have matching jersy's on their player profile pics.

Here is a few more.
All NHL Teams Ice Surface. Yup thats right, real ice surfaces for all the teams.
All International Ice Surface.
CBC In Game Theme (replaces EA).
CBC Hockey Night In Canada for game intro sequence.
EA Splash screen has been changed to NHL/NHLPA
Goalie Maks Update. (All goalies have NHL masks, not the generic ones EA makes.)
CBC Game Clock.

As you see, I gave the game a real Canadian feel to it.

Man this EA bull is getting annoying. I forgot to updated the game after I installed it last week. tried tonight, no go. So I uninstalled and reinstalled, it updated alright, but decided it did not want to update to v1.04, but to v1.01... What the heck lol.

So now I am trying again... Just when I think EA cant sink any lower, they prove me wrong. Why EA.. Why!!!!!!!!!

I play EA and it kicks ass. I had that scoring problem a little while ago until I got a mod to fix it up. Unfortunately, I cant remember what exactly it was and where I got it from. My team (Florida

: ), in Dynasty mode is consistently top of the League in scoring apart from a few odd years when Chicago comes top after I sim (w/o changing rosters and practices) the whole season until the playoffs start. Can't wait until EA 2005 comes out. I am however, thinking of getting ESPN as well because of all the praise it is getting.

if ESPN came out for PC i woudl consider trying it. Everybody knows EA could do better, but for the PC thats all Hockey has, is EA.

I don't have a mod exactly, but I found settings from NHL Depot for the AI that totally changes the physics.

After I have tried the AI settings NHL Depot suggested, I went from 5 min period games with final scores of 9-6 on HARD to 5 min periods with final scored of 2-1, 3-2, 3-0, realistic, on the hard setting. And the best part, was using the Sens in playoff mode, I went to game 7 in the finals but also triple OT... Now talk about trying not to screw up lol.

edit: I guess it would help if I gave you the settings.

Adjust them to how you would like, but this is the base NHL Depot suggests and it works great I find.

i play it on gameCube, so i got to maually update rosters. that can take up to 2 hours if you're stating from scratch. i love the dynasty mode though, i fell in love with the draft there. i just love drafting a player and seeing him become an elite player. could use mre rounds though...

Oh.. I see everyone is talking about the PC versions.. I only play the PS2 EA games.. so mods aren't really an option. Damn Jagr and his 245 pts!!

(And I traded Alfie whowas getting like 70-80 pts/year and he goes on to average 170 for the next 4 years.. stupid computer!!)

OK OK....get this...you'll love it!!!

So my brother and I live together and keep our rosters up to date on 2K4....I traded Lalime to St. Louis...and signed Hasek to Ottawa....then I decided to simulate a season to see how the two would fair out. Ottawa finished third in the conference and got swept by the Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals...Here's the kicker! The St. Louis Blues finished top in the Western Conference, second overall in the NHL....but were upset in the 1st round by the mighty Edmonton Oilers in 7 games...I just about died laughing!!!!

I am addicted to nhl2004 for GC. Right now I have a Nashville dynasty that kicks ass. Well, I just had to rebuilt the whole team, since they all wanted more money, right now the team is kinda weak... but cheap!

I wouldnt go outright now tobuy NHL 2004 for PC. Just wait some time to get nhl2005 when its out.

I just wish EA would put in more penalties. They need to make it so your able to hit the goalie and you get a penalty. Right now you try and hit him and you miss.
