The site has to move

Unfortunately the host we use has decided to go down the road of overselling their services and due to a few slow sql queries they have given me notice to vacate within a week.  I will be taking the site down on Monday to move it to a new host.  It may then take an extra day or two for the dns changes to take place. This really sucks as I was paid up until July.  I will ask for a refund but I doubt I will be getting one.

If you didn't cancel the service and have paid up to July they have to give you the money back, especially if they are the ones giving notice.  Not sure how much it is but I wouldn't just let them have it. :)

That really bites! Do you have a new host lined up? If not, I know a great place. It's a web development studio I've been using a lot for work. Great guys, easy to deal with, reliable, and good prices. BD, if you're interested, please pm me for their info.

I have a new host lined up.  A good Canadian company.  If that does not work out I will contact you for sure.  The problem is that you just never know who the oversellers are.

Welcome back.  There were a few problems restoring the database however the host support was great in getting the site back up and running.

Nice job BD.  I logged in yesterday and found myself looking at a cgi folder I couldn't open...but the downtime was very short.  :mrgreen:
