These rankings only take into account current regular season performance only and are calculated by a unique statistical formula. Stats don't lie, but they don't tell the whole truth either.

Goalies must have played a minimum of 4 games this season to be eligible for rank.

1) Lundqvist
2) Leclaire
3) Biron
4) Gerber
5) Thomas
6) Backstrom
7) Vokoun
8) LaBarbera
9) Osgood
10) Huet
...
30) Brodeur (never thought I'd see the day)
...
35) Raycroft

I think its the right choice, Gerber deserves to play, he's been solid every game so far. Ride him til he crashes!

Despite going through their worst stretch in 10 years, the Senators attendance at home games so far in 06/07 according to ESPN, is at 102.9%. That's behind Calgary and Toronto respectively for third highest in the league. I don't really see any concern, especially when I look at winning teams like New Jersey and Anaheim sitting in the bottom half for home attendance.

Sens Talk / Re: Corvo, Preissing and Gerber analysis time.

Gerber = Garbage, and I expected that from the beginning. Worst signing I've ever seen by Mucks.

Corvo = Solid. Nothing to complain about, a good pick up.

Preissing = Fine. He's not bad, and he's doing better then I expected.

Gerber's never done well under pressure and I just don't see that changing. He's one of those guys who can play well when nobody is expecting anything from him, that's why he did so good in Anaheim and during the regular season. He's a career backup, and an unreliable one at that in my opinion and I said that the day Ottawa signed him. I don't expect him to do well against the Canes, but Emery does need a game off.

Sens Talk / Re: Emery is Our Man / Emery's the Man [merged]

Yeah he is our guy, and he's really never shown he wasn't. Even last year he went on that winning streak when Hasek was down and played well in the playoffs. He is the number 1 guy and it was dissapointing to hear I can't remember who, but someone in the ottawa locker room stating that "It's great to have our backup playing so well while Gerber gets his game back." Talk about unmotivating Emery. That's more of an insult than a compliment.

And Diggy what are you talking about in ur other post? Emery basically split duties with Hasek last year, I believe Hasek only played 40 games. Emery had a solid amount of starts and did us well in everyone except for that one Atlanta game. I also agree he did well in the playoffs too.

I've never stopped being a Sens fan however computer troubles followed by busy exams and a summer of travelling have kept me away from anything computer related.

Introductions / I've Returned!

Well after about a year absence I've returned to these boards. Some of you might remember me as the diehard Tugnutt fan. Yep well just to let you know I still am and I'd take him at the league minimum right now over Gerber and his 3.5 mil!

Sens Talk / Re: Isn't that Ironic? Hasek doing well.
« on: November 17, 2006, 10:39:11 PM »
I really don't think Hasek is doing that well at all. Stats can be deceiving. Detroit has been playing some of the stingiest defence in the league right now. They've been allowing no more than 20 shots against a game and hardly any quality scoring chances. I'm pretty sure even Martin Gerber would be leading the league right now if he was playing on Detroit. Aside from that have we all forgot about the fact that he's injury prone? He was playing pretty solid on Ottawa up until his groin injury last year. I highly doubt he makes it through this season without an injury.

Sens Talk / Re: Next 5 games
« on: November 17, 2006, 10:28:24 PM »
I'm feeling good about the Sens right now. I think Emery returning and getting a win in Buffalo to beat the best team in the Eastern Conference is a turning point for the team. Even with tonight's loss in New Jersey there were lots of positives. For one, Emery came up with some big saves to keep it 3-0, and for two Ottawa was able to battle back with 2 goals in the third. For the next 5 games I predict a record of 2-1-2 -> with the one regulation loss coming tomorrow night against Buffalo in Ottawa.

TSN's Off The Record showcased goalie Ron Tugnutt December 12th, does anyone have any video or audio clips of the show? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sens Talk / Re: The Sens' problem
« on: December 10, 2005, 10:05:26 AM »
Sometimes I wonder even considering how successful we've been this year, maybe we could've been even better if we were still under Jaques Martins disciplined defensive game. It's not like under his defensive strategies that we didn't score, we led the league in scoring the season before, and all those years made mediocre goalies look like top notch starters. Just imagine now that we have a proven top notch starter how well we'd play if we weren't taking as many chances and penalties.

Maybe I'm just kidding myself but I never got over Jacques firing just because he was always stuck with a no show goalie in the playoffs.

After some thought, I figured it might be helpful if I put some reasoning behind my choices since I don't have much credential to start with.

Take em seriously, look at them for a good laugh, or don't look at all, I'm just a 15 year old goalie who watches a lot of hockey and finds it fun to post ratings. :woohoo:
