Sens Talk / Re: Alfie's Condition
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:55:24 PM »
Did a bit of research on this because I was curious. There isn't much in the way of credible information on how playoff payments work, but here's what I've been able to gather:

Teams that make the post-season pay into a league-central playoff fund. The exact percentage of revenues they pay is based on that team's total gate revenues (top 10 pay 50%, middle 10 pay 40%, last 10 pay 30%). Any money left in other funds will be included in the total payouts as well. Out of those funds, teams are paid based on how far they progress, and receive the same amount whether they play 4 or 7 games. The amount they receive pays for players, coaches, trainers, and other staff, so comparatively, it doesn't come to much. There are also bonuses for certain milestones and awards (such as the President's, Art Ross, Conn Smythe, and Norris trophies, and of course, the Stanley Cup).

That info's based on the CBA, and the only credible article I could find from 1998:

Lehner sent down and Bishop called up. Apparently expected to get the start Tuesday.

As is typical for HNIT, the all-Canadian match-up is regional while the Leafs are national tonight. In terms of viewership, I have a hard time believing the latter would be a larger draw nationally. :shake:

I've had seats in most parts of the building at various points, and I still prefer to be in the 200s and low 300s than the 100s. Can see more of what's going on up there.

Reports today that Filatov apparently couldn't get a KHL deal done, but won't play in Binghamton and will be assigned there, then suspended.

I just thought the same thing and was going to start it. Admittedly don't know a lot about Turris, but I'm not sure about this.

sorry to bug everyone. but has anyone ever sat in Sections 109, 103, 118, 119 or 113 right on the glass at SBP ?
I want to get some tickets but worry about sitting in the corners, like if the view is bad down the ice.
Alternately, we can do 200 level right on the front row as well. But, like I said in my tickets post, GF wants to see faces..lol..

Any help ia appreciated. We are gonna be making the trip from Sudbury and this'd be only our 2nd real game. First was in the 300's way up.

My normal seats are in the 300 corners and I like it up there because you can see the whole ice. I have sat in most areas of the building. If you're going to be in the first few rows of 100 anywhere along the ends, it is a bit difficult to see down the ice, particularly if there's a lot going on over there. It isn't horrible, but it's obviously not ideal. You're probably not going to see faces as well in the 200s though. I think you're going to have to pick a trade-off.

Wonder if the CBC will pick up the game and broadcast it coast to coast to coast?   :icon_hiding2:

They did indeed! I hear the movie is coming!

Incredible, completely incredible.  I hope that isn't the case.

Bob McKenzie also just tweeted the same. Unlikely to get anything at this point.

Garrioch tweeted that there is no hearing scheduled for Wolski. So much for the NHL's credibility.

Am I the only one who feels like this game is being shot with a handheld cam?

What did the goal song end up being?

A remix version of Seven Nation Army.

The Sens had 44 shots in total when it was all said and done.
It was probably the loudest that SBP has ever been.  Especially when Alfie scored the shootout winner.

It has been pretty loud before (notably when they went to the eastern finals and finals), but I haven't seen that type of energy in the building in a long time.

Anyway, Scary, did you get the game on Sportsnet East? Did anybody here? There's no "Sens region" on Sportsnet. The Sens region is Sportsnet East, which I've been watching for years. That's how I watch most of their games, like you probably. I'd surprised if you did get the game on Sportsnet East. It looked like they showed baseball instead. Otherwise I woulda seen it. Unless the rules changed.

I was watching online, but the feed was from Sportsnet East. Who's your cable provider? Where are you located? Sens region hasn't changed: Line from Pembroke to Belleville, and all points east in Canada.

Is everyone else getting baseball on Sportsnet East too? They've been advertising the Sens opener so much and then they just show baseball? It's not on Sportsnet Sens either. Thankfully RDS has it in french, but man tv has been unreliable lately.

Are you in the Sens region? If not, you won't ever get Sportsnet games without Centre Ice.
