Buffalo looks like a whole team of Martin Havlats for gods sake, how did they pile so many no name stars onto the ice at once?  Makes no sense.

It not only has to do with signing/drafting players well, but it's also a lot to do with coaching. Ruff has got them playing as a complete team.

I'm no fan of Murray...

Guys, I'm sorry to bring up bilingualism, you guys took it the wrong way.

IF Alfie's brother and 10 thousand other people are EQUALLY qualified, why give it to a Swede off the boat who speaks broken English and NOT to an Ottawan, born and bred AND bilingual?

Just sayin'.... EQUAL qualifications but the Ottawan actually has a language BONUS. Give it to the Swede because he's Alfie's brother and the boys can get free tickets? Come on... the BEST man. Communication is EXTREMELY important in EMERGENCIES of LIFE and DEATH and with all things being EQUAL, give it to the local yocal! :smily698:

Oh for f*ck sakes. "off the boat"...he's probably been living here for years. And what makes you think he speaks "broken english"? Who gives a f*** where he is born? I wasn't born in Ottawa and my french is crappy...does that make me any less Canadian? Am I a lesser "Ottawan"? And for all YOU know he could be fluent in French.

You sound like a bitter Xenophobe. What a horrible attitiude you fool.

And this is me telling you this nicely.

Sens Talk / Re: Gerber = Lalime
« on: November 12, 2006, 04:31:22 PM »
While we're on the subject of Lalime, he's got the most wins by a Sens goalie ever, and took us farther in the playoffs than any other goaltender. He's fallen on hard times, which I firmly believe has to do with a vision problem. But don't compare him to Gerber, because it's not fair to Lalime. He deserves some more respect from the fans of this team. One major playoff derailment should not erase a very solid career in this city.

 :icon_agree: :smily698:

Vision problem...interesting. He did wear glasses (so you can assume he wore contacts during games). Admittedly, I never thought about it. Whatever it was, he lost his confidence and I think his career is as good as done now. :(

Gerber < Lalime

At least Lalime was good in the regular season.

Lalime was also good in the playoffs.

I will continue to cheer on this team, win or lose.

And the people who think that Murray should be canned don't?

This attitude that you're not happy and want change is somehow akin to not supporting the team is BS. I don't like Murray and Muckler, and these feelings have been festering for a while and it's reaching a point that I'm unhappy. Just saying "they're trying their best" or "we'll snap out of it" doesn't cut it. There are clear problems on this team that need addressing and the past month has taken off the mask so to speak.

I might not have all the answers, and yes, I realize there isn't always a silver lining on the other side. Patience is important, but when do you say enough is enough? There are always other options out there. Also, I see nothing wrong with websites like these as it gives a venue for people to speak on the matter, whether they agree or not. It doesn't matter if Muckler or whoever doesn't care, or doesn't listen. Really, it changes nothing. It just gives an opportunity for voices to be heard and really, that's what message boards, blogs etc. are about. It doesn't hurt anyone to talk about it.

thanks :)

but really... just our existence should be enough proof that there is a God...

Not to belittle anyone's beliefs, but seriously, this is not a good argument for the existence of God. The "only God could make something so complex" theory is just not true.

Anything But Hockey / Re: What Nationality Are You?
« on: September 15, 2006, 08:20:41 PM »
Well I was born in England. All my family was born England. Every single relative except for my immediate family (who are here in Ottawa of course) resides in England. So yeah...obviously my nationality is English. However, I think of myself as Canadian before English. I've been living here for 12 years and still have my English accent, but I have had Canadian citizenship since birth so I have always been dual nationality. When asked this question I usually respond British-Canadian although I consider myself a Canadian first and foremost.

It's kind of amusing how people who are born here prattle on about their background mix, yet someone like me who has LEGITIMATE reason to say something other than Canadian actually refers to themself as Canadian in their mind.

Actually I was really into 'LOST' during its first season. But the direction the writers took in season 2 was disappointing.

Same here. I'm currently d/l eps 12 and onwards I can catch up in time for season 3.

Anything But Hockey / Re: MOVIES!

Trust in Kevin Smith. I think people are too critical now a days. For example, I just went to see the new Pirates movie, and I loved it. Yes it was long, but it is an action movie. Most people complained it had no plot. I'd love these people to try and explain why it had no plot. Lets see, the characters are introduced, Jack Sparrow reveals something about a chest, Davy Jones comes after Jack, they go get the chest,...simple yes, but thats what happens in the movie, thus a plot.

This Pirate movie is an ACTION film and people are not critiqueing it accordingly. If people want to go see a 5 star deep depressing " self discovery" movie, a Pirate action movie is not the one for you.

Perfectly said!

Sesshoumaru's mother is alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(And she's beautiful. Sesshy was blessed with an amazing gene pool, both mother and father. It's no wonder he's so god damn beautiful himself!!)

Wow...I'll have to start reading Inuyasha manga now.

Just finished Maneater by Nelly Furtado.

Now I'm listening to Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake.

I love this song too much. I doubt it's healthy.
