Sens Talk / Nate Thompson
« on: July 03, 2017, 01:46:25 PM »
So what do you guys think about this one?

I like it, he's a good gritty addition to the team. Also good on the face offs I hear and plays a lot on the penalty kill. I think he played under Guy at Tampa too right?

Top Prospects & Binghamton Senators / Belleville Senators
« on: February 01, 2017, 11:54:53 AM »
So, with the announcement that New Jersey will be moving their AHL affiliate to Binghamton to start the 17/18 season, I'm guessing that we'll have the Belleville Senators from next season.

Was there anything released about the baby Sens moving, I don't see anything about the move being so soon?

Sens Talk / Tommy Wingels
« on: January 24, 2017, 05:03:14 PM »
I don't know much about Wingels, looking at his stats he can put up some decent points and looks like he brings a good bit of grit to the team, which I'm always a big fan of and he's young. Zack Zortini was doing nothing in Bingo, Buddy was actually playing pretty well and putting up points so bit of a loss there but we do get an NHL ready grinder. I'm guessing this is a depth move and to bring more of a scoring threat to the fourth line.

What do you guys think of the trade?

Sens Talk / Alfie's Jersey Retirement

I thought it was a really great ceremony as far as they go. It's crazy to think I grew up watching him lead the Sens and now his number is in the rafters. Crazy how time flies!!

Anything But Hockey / Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
« on: December 23, 2009, 02:02:01 PM »
Well, I’ve just arrived home after driving 400+ miles through rain, sleet, hail, snow, ice covered roads and strong winds. What a journey. Having Chris Rea’s, Driving Home For Christmas on repeat kept my spirits high though, ha.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year.

Sens Talk / Sens Sign Brendan Bell
« on: July 11, 2008, 03:49:29 PM »
OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the signing of defenceman Brendan Bell to a one-year, two-way contract and goaltender Mitchell O’Keefe to a one-year, entry-level contract.

Bell, an Ottawa native and graduate of Brian Kilrea’s Ottawa 67’s, played last season with both the Phoenix Coyotes and their American Hockey League affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In 69 games with the Rampage, he scored seven goals and added 24 assists for 31 points while recording 80 penalty minutes. He recorded no points in two games with the Coyotes.

The 25-year-old was the Toronto Maple Leafs’ third-round choice (65th overall) in the 2001 National Hockey League entry draft. He made his NHL debut in 2005-06 with Toronto, playing in one game with the Maple Leafs. In 48 career NHL games with Toronto and Phoenix, Bell has scored one goal and added six assists while recording 27 penalty minutes.

The defenceman has represented Canada internationally on two occasions, winning a gold medal at the 2003-04 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland, and winning a silver medal at the 2002 world junior championships in Halifax.

Bell enjoyed a decorated junior hockey career with the Ottawa 67’s, scoring 171 points (32-139) in 238 games over four seasons. In his final year with the 67’s in 2002-03, he was named to the Canadian Hockey League’s first all-star team and won the CHL defenceman-of-the-year award.

General Hockey Discussions / Roberts
« on: June 24, 2008, 12:10:32 PM »
So Roberts isn't returning to the Pens. Do we take a chance on him or what? Granted he's injury prone but for the right price I would take him, he was very influential in the games he played in the playoffs for the Pens, especially against us.

So what do you think?

Sens Talk / Who will replace Low?
« on: February 28, 2008, 05:41:50 PM »
I heard that on the radio stations yesterday a name getting tossed about (among others) was Jeff Odgers. Personally, I would love this. Grit behind the bench is just as important as grit on the ice. Although, maybe they won't replace him at all.

So what do guys think?
