3-0 already and the crowd is stunned.  If Thomas doesn't get the MVP is should go to Marchand.

Of course, Canucks fans will cry and whine about that 3rd goal counting but what they can't see is that it was because of their own player.
ps you're a very bitter man. Hope you grow up one day.

Well sadly luongo brought his usual game as did the sedins.

Bruins deserved the win.

I meant the nucks fans.

They had a good season but once again the canucks fail to rise for the big games.

Luongo was bad sure but the twins were worse.

Good luck to the sens next year.

Farewell.

I have followed the canucks since i visited van in 1990 as a kid. From clipping out scores from the previous day to net radio to streaming to tv i have waited for this chance.

My cup of boston hate is empty, i don't even care about the refs nor the stats. All i see is a great hockey town,  a team of players with amazing stories and hope that they can achieve their dreams.

Go canucks. We are with you.

I detest Boston now more than I detest the Flames. I hated the city when I visited it, I found the people unfriendly and the food god awful but the team is far worse and the amount of BS that they get away with is insane.

That being said, the nucks have been horrible in their last two games. The powerplay is the core reason, but the dmen and forwards have not come to play.

But **** it, the canucks busted their ass for home ice advantage and now it really gives us an edge. The flat track bullies in Boston will have to beat Vancouver at home to win the series, and I sense a 3rd and final momentum swing brewing. The Canucks are due to step up, to use their speed and kesler and burrows have shown that they play big in the big games. I want the canucks to bring it, 40 years of "almost" is too much. Go Canucks, bring the cup home.

Every team traps at times. The nucks score off the rush, on the pp and the sedins score by puck control in the attacking zone.

The canucks were number 1 on the pk, pp until manny went down.

Haters gotta hate i guess.

Oh ya, Vancouver had nothing to do with that huh?  They were considered the most boring team even before meeting Nashvile.

Only by people who haven't watched them play for 3 seasons... The canucks have been the top scoring team in the west for the past two years, top in the NHL this year. For the millioneth time they are not the old luongo/trap team of the past and have not been for at least 3 years. Pekka rinne was on fire and the preds played snoozefest hockey all year with the old clutch and grab. When you're up against an opponent like that you can't play up tempo and win, you have to grind it out. The canucks-hawks series was great to watch, game 7 in particular and the canucks-san jose/det games were both uptempo and great games.

The only reason for the low scores is the sedin line. If they showed up then both series would have been full of canuck goals. The good thing is that the sedins do very well against the wings and they've improved against the sharks, so i'm hoping they are back on track.

So far, so good.

Hasn't been easy but 8 wins to go.

Kesler and burrows have been huge in the big games.

Sens Talk / Re: Murray isn't going anywhere.....
« on: April 08, 2011, 04:32:13 PM »
I think Murray's acquisition have generally been average. Yes Michalek has been injured and under achieved but up until the Sens season was gone they didn't look competitive. The sens have some young talent now, but winning meaningless games and making the playoffs are world's apart and I think rewarding Murray after such a poor season is the wrong sign. A one year deal would be better. I guess it means Clouston is gone, but haven't the sens fired enough coaches lately?

The curse of the President's Trophy lingers................. :smily1263:

Enjoy your playoff run, RD!!  While I won't be cheering on the Canucks, I hope you enjoy the games!   :drink:

Thanks. For mystics out there, it's a battle between the president's cup curse and the Canadian Olympic team/Stanley Cup luck.

So the Canuck player who was leaning forward reaching for the puck knowing full well a hit was coming bears zero responsibility?

Torres does bear some responsibility but the hit was at worst a reckless one. The puck was in play and eberle lowered his head, had eberle's head been higher then it would have been a body check. I would have accepted torres getting 2 games for a reckless hit but how is this hit worse than heatley's premeditated out of play hit to the head of Ott which received 2 games.

The NHL needs to look at other professional leagues pronto. A sophisticated system is the Australian Rugby League where all questionable hits are examined and graded based on whether they are in the play, careless, reckless or intent to injure with a set timeframe for each offence which can be downgraded if there are mitigating factors. The players also can plead guilty and reduce their suspensions, provided they are not repeat offenders and repeat offenders are punished. Oh and the best thing, the judiciary is independent and made up of a judge, and 2 former players and they publish their findings and scales. The NHL is pathetic in comparison on assessing suspensions.

Hark for the real season is almost among us. 2 years of chicagoan failure, 2 years of Lou loserisms and 7 puck choking and the Nucks are back, wearing the cloak of favouritism with a hat of past early exits. Could this be the one of the 40 years that does not suck? Could a rabid canuck fan go tonya harding on Luongo so that the more unflappable Schnieder is in net...could malholtra come out wearing a steel eyepatch?...could sami salo stay healthly for more than 4 games?...only the Hockey Gods know.

Round 2 - Conference Semi-Finals / Re: Canucks Vs Blackhawks
« on: May 05, 2010, 05:34:12 PM »
They are horrible frontrunners because they trap and don't know what to do with more than a one goal lead.

Yeah I might listen to you when you actually watch a game....

Anyway, big game tonight. Canucks defence showed some holes in game 2 but as bad as they played they almost got the win. Ryan johnson will be a plus with his fearless shotblocking, but the forwards need to go to the net more and the defence needs to be more physical. More shots are definitely needed.

Canucks are terrible frontrunners, they work better in close games. Hopefully the sedins play a bit harder in game 3 and they get their shots on net. 1-1 split on the road is still great.

Game 2, I expect the hawks to come out hard and probably take an early lead but I'm sure the nucks will respond well and push the hawks. Luongo so far is on an upward climb with his play, hope he keeps getting better with another solid performance tonight, Go nucks go.
