Sens Underground Announcements / Tucker/Sucker punch
« on: March 18, 2007, 02:08:01 PM »
I have to bring it up. He did it again last night! Tucker throws a late sucker punch in over top of the linesmen in his fight against Boullion. You have to give him credit for consistency. He's always a dirty coward.

For those scoring at home, the team that acquired Gary Roberts is now 6-2-1 since making such a bold move. And last night, the Senators deadline acquisition, Oleg Saprykin, was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game. Discuss among yourselves.

For me, I'd say cut down on the over-passing and shoot more. Way too many good chances being passed up for that one final little pass. They were doing a good job of this when they had all the injuries but now they are slipping back into the fancy-pants mode too often. And when they do shoot, hit the freakin' net!

Sens Underground Announcements / Groundhog day, Sens style

If d'arcy Tucker sticks his rat face out of the ground and the leafs resign him, it means three more years of hating the leafs.

What is this guy's obsession with not trading roster players? If it brings us the player we need then fine, make the trade! With all the free agents these days, very few players are irreplaceable. Why would Eaves be untouchable? I like him too but come on, it's not like the Sens couldn't live without him. And is he going to be the difference maker in a cup run? Muckler!!! Lighten up! :dash2:

Shredder will be editing it shortly. You are going to love the James Duthie interview. This guy is hilarious. And I piss off Shredder by siding with Leafs fans! He may never forgive me.

Sens Underground Announcements / What to do with McGrats?
« on: January 27, 2007, 11:00:06 AM »
There's been alot of talk about what to do with McGrats when Spezza and Fisher return. Do we move him? Send him down? I say no, keep him. Yes, I know there's no room for him. Yes, I know we could use the cap space. But the team loves him and with Chara gone, losing Grats would leave Neil as the sole tough guy. Do we want to see Neil slide back into that role? NO way! I think losing him would be a bigger blow than we think and things are going too well now. Bite the bullet and Mucks, and keep him in the press box. You never know when you'll need him and the team will appreciate it.

Sens Underground Announcements / A blessing in disguise?
« on: December 30, 2006, 01:05:31 PM »
maybe, or maybe not. But who knows? Maybe these injuries will teach the rest of the team that if they want to win any games from here on in, they are going to have to bust their asses and win ugly, low scoring games. There's no Spezza to save them now. Hockey has a funny way of working like that. And the last two games were certainly nothing like what we've seen from this team all year. 4 lines grinding out trap-style wins? Fighting 60 minutes on the boards? hell, even Corvo has looked pretty good. It ain't pretty, but it's the way you win in the playoffs. There's my silver lining.

Alfie's picked up his game. We need Schaef, Vermette and Eaves to do the same now. Even Hamel. They will need to bury every good chance they get.

Happy new year!

Sens Underground Announcements / Redden Snub.

Played pretty damn well, but............. Didn't come out for his third star call. That's punk. For a guy who makes 6.5 million who supposedly loves the community and is a fan favourite and a team leader that's not acceptable. The kids deserve better. :icon_hissyfit2:

Sens Underground Announcements / here's a question for you.
« on: December 20, 2006, 01:31:18 AM »
Alot has been said recently about the identity of our team and I'm starting to give this alot of thought and I believe there may be alot to this. So,........

If you were asked "what type of team is Ottawa" , what would you answer? How would you describe them?

Sens Underground Announcements / Send us your questions.
« on: December 15, 2006, 11:50:16 AM »
hey everyone,

Russell from the Sens Underground here. Just wanted to let you know that we'll be interviewing a gentleman by the name of Chad Schella next week, who is the Director of Player Services for the Sens. That means he takes care of all issues off-ice for the players and their families. [ moves, schools, immigration, language training, charities, etc. ]

We'd like to invite you all to e-mail us your questions for Chad as this is a great opportunity to get answers to those things you've always wondered about the players away from the rink. Send them to podcast@sensunderground.com before next Tuesday night.

Thanks.

Sens Underground Announcements / Worst performance since Sid days.
« on: December 14, 2006, 11:23:43 PM »
no words can describe that debacle. Corvo, McAmmond and Hamel all have to go. They stink. Especially Corvo. Not one of them brings anything to the team.

where was our so-called leadership tonight?

Sens Underground Announcements / Time to Trade Spezza
« on: November 18, 2006, 11:26:27 AM »
Yep, it's time. I'm now convinced this guy will never compete hard enought to be a champion. What more does it take? This team is dying and needs him desperately. yet game after game, he is the laziest player out there. Yes, he puts up points but imagine what he copuld do if he really tried! And he can. we saw what he could do in those two games after the booing incident but he has slipped back to his old ways. The way he's playing, I'd rather have Neil out there. At least I know with Chris, he's gonna leave it all out there. I'm so tried of watching Spezza do his stickcheck-from-6-feet-away routine instead of going in and knocking a guy off the puck and taking it from him. He always wants to take the shortcut and try for the fancy-ass play. It'll never work and I don't think he'll ever change. Time to go and get someone ala Ryan Smyth, a leader who knows what it takes. By the way, Heatley. I'm watching you too! :paddle:
