Kovalev has been having a bad night. I'm not watching the game anymore. Its to bad to watch

Bad night?  He's been having a bad year.

I actually put on "Men Who Stare at Goats" to test out my home theatre.  Worked and actually missed most of the game.  What a shame. :)

Surprising that Ottawa will have to see the Leafs game because the Sabres are the team of interest for Sens fans right now in regards to the division not being clinched yet. TSN is dumb by leading with the Leafs, really dumb.

You better get on the blower and straighten them out pronto!

They should've started Leclaire. We can't move up, we can't move down and its a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I don't think Elliott's (or many of the other players') heads are in the game.

They are in Uniondale, where it's a balmy 9C today. ;)

Ah they had to lose a game, it's coast mode now, guys don't wanna get hurt, want to nurse some bruises and stuff.  The coachin staff will let em know what's what but they played well at the end of the game I think they'll be alright

A 5 game losing streak, followed by another 10 game winning? I'll take it.

I figure that they were out late on Thursday after that game celebrating their clinching of a playoff spot.  Likely hadn't had too many late nights in over a month!

They played poorly but they showed a little bit of gumption near the end of the third (when it was pretty much over so perhaps the Isles let up a bit too!).  Either way, kind of difficult to get too worked up over the loss.   :smily677:

Will say, though, that Kovalev was even MORE useless than usual.   :shake:

But the 'silver lining' for me is that once it was 3-0, I just absorbed myself in cooking and listened to the game in the background....did not feel compelled in the least to look up!  ;)

Looked like a nasty gash that Carkner got, likely from his helmet getting jammed into his ear and without any hair to 'cushion' it....OUCH!!   :fear:

No harm done, really.   :woohoo

I think they played down to the Islanders just as I said they would. When I think boring, lethargic hockey I immediately think of sens islanders games, especially if they're on Long Island. It's like a different world from a game against the habs on a saturday night. Today's game was like a perfect storm, an afternoon affair, against a team they don't care about, when they had almost nothing to play for.

The sens seem to match the level of intensity of the opponent, which is why they are so damn streaky. If they have an excuse to take a day off they take it.

One thing I want to add is that Meyer is a ****** coward. Ducks a hit by Winchester (Winchester went face first in the boards) and late in the game he ducked a Neil hit, again causing Neil to hurt himself. We're not talking about huge Sutton/Volchy type hits, but standard, finishing-your-check hits.  :icon_angry2:

Since spot is clinched it would only be fitting to Have Leclaire play for the remainder of the season. I don't recall him playing 3 consecutive games this season. Sucks that if he would get to play the rest of the season because of the team clinching and not for any other reason. But play him, see what happens.

p.s. Actually just play him in the trip to Florida. Keep Elliott against Miller on Saturday to make it 6-0 series against Sabres. I don't have enough confidence that Leclaire can maintain the near perfect series.

You have to keep Elliott fresh though. I would've sat him yesterday and this Thursday. I would think Leclaire will get the call once in Florida.
