Just heard on the Team during an interview with Bobby Butler that:  1) about eight members of his family are heading to Ottawa as he has been told that he will be dressing for the game against the 'Canes;  2) he had just received word that he one of the three finalists for the Hobey Baker award which will be announced next week.

After the interview, they also said that Zack Smith was returned to Bingo today.

And good job to Smith.  He played pretty well.

Interesting that Butler gets in against the Canes.  IMHO they are playing as well or better than anyone in the East right now.  this will be an big test for the team.

How has Butler looked in his limited minutes of ice time so far?

Ok, why was Jokinen not given a 5-min and a game for charging or w/e?  In order for him to actually get an elbow on Sutton's head he had to and DID leave his feet.  Why do you think Sutton cross-checked him twice?  And boy did he go down FAST.  Stupid shit.

Apparently there aren't many of us watching the game. :)

Nice work by Foligno and Kovalev in OT.

Oh my Godddd! It all started with the faceoff win and beauty pass by Spezza to Karlsson for the tying goal. From there, overtime solved nothing so the shootout commenced. While both Hurricanes' players missed, Kovalev and Spezza did not, and now we've clinched a spot. Best ending ever.

Spezza is blowing me away now.  His surge since learning how to play without Heatley is fun to watch now. He make less mistakes and seems to be turning into that superstar we have waited a long time to see emerge.

Karlsson...WOW.  He still makes mistakes, but his recovery is fantastic most times and his shot is really starting to find it's mark.

Butler...good showing for his first time out.  He is a step behind..but just.  It was clear to me that his hockey sense is very good and if he had an extra step, he would have scored on that feed from Foligno.

Speakling of Foligno...kid has found his game again since coming back.

Sutton continues to make a difference each time out and even Phillips is showing a more physical side in his game.  Volchenkov fired two nice slappers on net, one finding twine

The entire team is playing good  :ccclapping:

Exception - Kovalev.  One thing to not score but do no harm buddy.  He gave up the puck all night, including causing a 2 on 1 in OT.  He's a momentum killer.  He needs to switch his brain on.

"kid Karlsson" TSN report after the game.

Classic Spezza giggle at 59 second mark.

I LOVE his giggle - it makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Seeing Karlsson and then Alfie right after each other on that clip really made it clear that Alfie is getting up there.  It took be aback a bit to be honest.  Alfie seemed ageless to me before that moment.  Everyone is aging (but not me of course).  AAAK!

I agree on the Spezza comments.  He's blowing me away too!  If I had a nickel for every time in the last 5 years I wanted Spezza to be cemented to the bench, I'd be rich.  Lately I find myself saying out loud ' put Spezza out there'  HUH - shocking myself every time
