Had to listen to the final five minutes on the radio (while picking up my son at school) but at least got to see Karlsson's PP goal before I left!  Interesting PP unit out there tonight with Cullen-Fisher-Spezza and the two Swedessons on the points.  Great to see them score on that one and only 'true' PP of the night (19 seconds of PP time earlier just didn't count in my books!).

Good game by the entire team from the goaltender on out!  And THAT'S what they need game in and game out (although, realistically, I am only looking at a game at a time....).

The Sens were quick - and often first - to the puck;  good on the boards; delivered solid hits (Sutton had four, possibly, five on the night and the Habs KNEW when he was out there!); kept their feet moving (even though it didn't draw penalties they still kept moving); blocked shots; launched their bodies to the ice to take away the puck; had some good puck control and some great scoring chances.  They were also perfect on their five penalty kills which, frankly, made a big difference, IMHO since it appeared that the Canadiens could do no wrong except for the mugging Kelly took which included a hook before Moore was called (for a trip, I think, but either way he was the second offender on the play  :shake:).  Many Sens had strong games tonight.   :ccclapping:

Elliott was unflappable in nets tonight and made some sterling saves, including a couple of multiple rapid-fire ones!  He was definitely focussed and a 'man with a plan'.   :happy dance:

Good thing that the Habs fans had practice with their chorus of boos from booing Kovalev all night....until they gave those efforts up in favour of booing their own team after Ottawa scored their second goal.  Great 'reward' for their team after their recent streak.   :rolleyes

Halak had a very good night as well.  Kind of surprised to hear on the postgame show that he did not get a star in his building tonight.  He got the third star on the Team's broadcast.  Elliott was awarded the first star on the Team with Peter Regin named second star.  The hardest worker Senator - which they said was very difficult to choose - ended up going to Andy Sutton.

Unfortunately, I have a meeting tomorrow night and will have to miss the game against the Flyers.  With a little luck, I might get out in time to see the third period (agenda doesn't look too challenging).  Either way, hopefully the guys can continue the good work ethic they showed tonight for the game tomorrow!

Finally sens are getting some wins for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a long time since we have won. I didn't watch the game but from what I hear karlsson and Sutter pairing was crazy! It was a great day for our rookies. Karlsson, elliott and Regin.

Maybe they are starting to peak again?  This would be good.   Ottawa put in a consistent effort.
Luongo sucks.

Like many fans in the capital this time of year, I'm just hoping for the best.  :laugh2:   Put faith in your current roster and make a run. Sadly I do believe a rebuild is still on the radar...

I like Clouston, I wouldnt send him anywhere.

I like Clouston as well, but he's ever so grumpy looking. Has anyone ever seen him smile?

He has no OFF switch.  Never shovels the walk way, he just glares at the snow and it melts.
