Another guy essentially taking on Leclaire 1 on 1 with no defence in between.

That was a big ole steamin pile of $!#$#$%.   Someone connect some brains to the hockey sticks.   Ugly passes, lots of east-west attempted plays that were turned over, can anyone realize that Leclaire doesn't have a stick and just ice the puck - like say Kovalev who tried dipsy doodling out of his own end.  Missing Kuba big time on the back end.  Not much to say, this was about the opposite of the way the team played on their run.   Canucks played a good game but the Sens made it easy with a ton of self inflicted grief.  To bad because every time it seemed the Sens were getting some momentum they would screw something up royally and blow it.

Not much to say, this was about the opposite of the way the team played on their run and the last game in Calgary.

I completely don't understand how the commentator then gave the fight to Griffen or whoever it was. Neil landed twice as many punches. Are these the usual Vancouver guys? A bunch of homers or something?

But there's a serious cancer in the sens defense. And the referee abuse continues. That wasn't a penalty.

Ya, the commentators, like the Cole/?? crew, are homers for the other Canadian team in any Senators match-up.  There is NO way Ripen won that fight.  Sure he may have thrown more punches but as was evident by the damage to his face he did not win that fight.

I went to bed once the score was 3 - 1 Canucks.  The amount of turnovers the Sens give up game in and game out makes me  :icon_vomit:

Bring back Cheechoo!! At least the guy was consistent and this team hasn't been the same since he was sent down.
Maybe things will pick up again once Kuba, Foligno and even Campoli come back.  The kids on D are making some serious mistakes when pressured.  Kovalev the magician....ya right.  The only trick he has done consistent all season is disappear.  :(

Just read the final score....Glad I didn't stay up.

Points you have to give it to Rypien although Neil got a couple in near the end.  Hockeyfights.com vote is 65% Rypien,12% Neil and 23% voted a draw.  I'm not a voting member but I would go with a draw but if I was forced to pick a winner I would have to lead towards Rypien.

The guy is a great little scrapper.  You have to give him that!  He gave up 25lbs to Neil!!  He's one tough customer.  Didn't care much for the show boating at the end.  I think that was just payback for Neil doing his idiotic display last time they fought in Ottawa.  I don't believe Rypien does that normally.

Not a bad scrap.

Any bets that Elliott gets the next start.  I'm giving 10:1 odds, with a flu/injury clause

There was nothing horrid about Leclaire's game, he just seemed small in the net and was down in the butterfly very quickly and getting beat high.  Very Lalime like, where there was nothing terrible but the pucks end up in the net.

Not a bad scrap yes but if you give the win to whoever throws the most punches a lot of fights wouldn't go to the guy who knocked out/cut the other guy.  Hell, using that criteria you COULD give the win of this fight to.....

I know I'm reviving a dead thread... but I saw that fight again, beginning to end, on a sportsnet highlight reel, and outside the first 10 seconds Neil owned that fight.

I'm not saying anyone won the fight. But the announcer saying Rypien won it was very premature. And I'm sure his saying that influenced votes on hockeyfights.com.

My problem is with how the announcer pronounced Rypien the unconditional victor at the time. It's definitely homerism.
