Sutton is going to be a targeted man, he laid out 3 oilers last time he played against them

Did they forget to turn the lights on at Rexall Place?

That cross-check to the head should be more than a minor penalty.

Got home in time to see the entire game. (I had meetings from 5 p.m. onwards).

For a while I thought the Sens would NEVER score on Deslauriers....he was stopping everything and quite a few of his stops were amazing (because he sure does not have much in the way of support out there!)  When Kelly finally scored and broke Deslauriers 133+ minutes of 'shut-out' time, I started to breathe easier....especially since Edmonton was leading 1-0 at the time.

Thought for sure that Peckham and Ruutu would get into something since they were at each other all night!   :icon_angry2:

Chippy game at first (glad Stortini got an instigator and a misconduct when he got into the fight with Carkner....it was pretty clear that Carkner wanted no part of it) but some of the chippiness left as the game went on....although still plenty of penalties (some I agreed with, others not so much).

Karlsson once again had an excellent game on the back-end with two assists, five shots on goal (mainly during the PP) and I think the most time on ice for the Senators at 23 minutes, 30 seconds.  And he took a couple of pretty solid hits along the way but did not seem much worse for wear!  After a hesitant start, Karlsson is sure coming into his own.

Alfie had a very good game, after not playing Saturday with the flu, getting three assists and often controlling the play when he was out there.   :ccclapping:

I think the Sens were getting frustrated - especially in the first half of the game - because they were throwing everything they could at Deslauriers but they just could not score!  To their credit, they did not give up, kept up the pace of the game and once they scored that first one, they seemed to take over the play completely.  With that said, however, Deslauriers - had I been picking - would have been one of the three stars because he was clearly the best player for Edmonton out there!

Nice to get back into the "win" column.

Everyone sleeping during the game?  :laugh2:

Sutton and Karlsson are a winning combination so far. I hope they are kept together when Kuba comes back.

Our GDT's are horrible.  :laugh2:
But I can't complain since I do little now to contribute in them.  Always nice to read the Rose Report

I went to bed at the beginning of the 2nd so I would have contributed more had I been watching the game. :)

I'm also glad that douchebag Stortini got the instigator.  Nice of him to throw a punch when Carkner didnt even have his gloves off or want to fight.  Once he did though, it was over for Stortini.
