Topic: Update for the roster etc.

Just wondering if and when admin is going to update the roster info and other features other than the message board?  This would be great to have for the start of regular season.  Thanks and I LOVE this site, well done.

Since most people hit the front page first, it would be nice to see it dressed up and made current.
Especially since we are trying to attract sponsors.  One look at that front page is enough to make or break a deal and as we all know....
First impressions mean everything.

I wish I could help but there are enough enspiring journalists and creative minds on this site, you don't need me.

Dagwood,  those are words of wisdom.  I have redirected the front page to the forum so until we have everything is updated if anyone tries to go to the front page they will automatically be directed here.

If you need someone to update the roster...or make some catchy Sens pictures, I am willing to volunteer for anything to help out, just PM me or email me, jordanmoore@shaw.ca. I am experienced using Macromedia fireworks, here is one of the quick posters I made. I jsut slopped this one together quickly, I can cuztomize and make much better ones.

I came here looking for salary information in the summer, and started posting on the forum then.

Most new members/potential advertisers will find the site because they are looking for a Sens resource. While much of the analysis and info on the boards is great, people won't find it unless they come to an attractive, up to date, and relevant homepage.

In terms of content, maybe some of the more insightful posters (i.e. not me) can contribute articles, 'blog' style entries, etc. that might be posted in a 'news' or 'analysis' section on the homepage (with a link to the forums for those who wish to comment).

We can't steal news articles from other sources...but many here have commented they could do better than Garrioch, Strachan and Eklund. Time to prove it.

All wonderful ideas.  I am currently waiting for a front page portal that is being developed that will completely integrate with this board software and allow for all the ideas you have mentioned and more.  I ahve looked at otehr portals and they all have limitations and very high learning curves.  This one is highly recomended but its a matter of waiting it.  In the meantime we can get all the info updated but this takes time and effort and we are looking into it.

Would you like a simple layout/template made for you?

I coudl make something that is new and let you see if you like it.

I would use header/footer format.. so updating the site is even easier.
