Uhhh,
Yeah, the Senators were shutout 5 times during the season, however, those games you have on there aren't the shutouts.
Here are the games were the Senators were shutout...
Thursday, December 1, 2005 - Boston 3 Ottawa 0
Thursday, December 15, 2005 - Dallas 2 Ottawa 0
Thursday, January 12, 2006 - San Jose 2 Ottawa 0
Monday, January 30, 2006 - Boston 5 Ottawa 0
Saturday, April 1, 2006 - Washington 1 Ottawa 0

And the Senators shutout their opponents 8 times...
Saturday, October 8, 2005 - Ottawa 5 Buffalo 0
Saturday, October 29, 2005 - Ottawa 8 Toronto 0
Saturday, November 5, 2005 - Ottawa 6 NY Islanders 0
Tuesday, November 29, 2005 - Ottawa 4 Montreal 0
Saturday, January 21, 2006 - Ottawa 7 Toronto 0
Thursday, January 26, 2006 - Ottawa 3 Montreal 0
Monday, March 6, 2006 - Ottawa 4 Tampa Bay 0
Monday, March 19, 2006 - Ottawa 4 New Jersey 0

You may want to read before you post. When he says shutout, hea means games that weren't shown in HNIC.

Oops! I obviously didn't read it properly, but then again, I only had 2 hours sleep last night for some strange reason.
My bad.

I've seen this petition before.  I signed it.  I hate Bob Cole.  He doesn't know any players' names and can't get simple things right. :icon_angry2:

There were some classic Bob Cole moments last night.
Bob-"It's a penalty against Edmonton! Oh, wait...I'm not sure. What is it?"
Harry-"I'm pretty sure it's a penalty against Anaheim"
Bob-"Really?"

I'm paraphrasing, of course, but the situation was quite similar.

Bob Cole a few games ago in the Anaheim-Edmonton series:

"Roloson goes to the bench to get his skate fixed and comes back on the ice and says: "Let's get this done and over with" " :icon_questionable:

He always says how much time there is left in the period and when the half way point is.  Why does he do that?  Is he bored of commentating non-Leaf games?

I could careless if Cole hates the Senators.  I do care when he can't get players names right after commentating endless number of Senators games over the past 5-6 years at the least (when they still do have a good number of multiple season Senators).

Getting Hasek confused with a defensman on the other team, calling Alfredsson "Anderson", calling anyone else other than Chara "Chara"... the list goes on.  Non-Senators fans don't understand and I don't expect them to (especially Leafs fans where he is a Toronto broadcaster and calls the game well).

The fact that Cole did a good job at remembering Edmonton players names last night is very intriguing...

I am with you, Szuper, as I could care less if Cole hates the Senators.  It is his unprofessionalism when he is doing Sens' games that drives me nuts.  However, I do think it is pretty obvious now that the "dull duo" are doing the Edmonton games that Cole is not fond of the Sens...have you noticed the different level of enthusiasm he has for the Oiler games?  And that was right from the start...not once the train got rolling.  Yet, when he calls a Sens game not only does he not know names, etc. but he has about as much enthusiasm in his voice as someone doing play-by-play at a funeral!  So 'ho-hum'.

And, as I have stated before, I pay for the CBC service, so complaining about it (or signing petitions) is pretty much my 'call'.  If others don't want to, no one says they have to.  I note that people on this site complain about government services all the time.  That's fine.  The CBC is a government 'service' and as a Sens fan, I am not being served well....and, frankly, not even equitably compared to some other fans in this country.

My Beef is that CBC doesn't broadcast Ottawa games every Saturday like they do for Toronto. They are "supposed" to be a public broadcaster, in a country where watching your team play on Saturday night is "supposed" to be a tradition. Then on top of that, the idiots running that asylum don't allow other Canadian networks to televise their games either. :icon_hissyfit2:

Dude.........CBC broadcasts games Regionally.......now let me explain.......if you live within a certian proximity of Toronto you get the Leafs game because the majority of people that live in the Toronto area would rather watch the Leaf game.........Now if you live in the Ottawa area you get the Ottawa game and if you live in the Montreal area you get the Habs game..........same goes for out west....They want to broadcast the "HomeTeam" game for the particular areas so that people get to see there team......they can't help it if your an Ottawa or Habs fan and live in The Toronto zone...

Theoretically that works... However, take a look at the calendar this season. There were quit a few Saturday's when the Senators wer enot even televised, and some Saturdays the leafs weren't even playing. So how do you explain CBC's decision not to televise Senators game on a Saturday when the Leafs are off that night?

I see where your going with this, I'm going to assume here that you live in the Toronto market?? Because of the new NHL package on digital cable there is a Licence issue when broadcasting games outside of the region during regular season games, so if you live outside the Ottawa region you would have to purchase the NHL package for like 100 bucks for the season, cause if they allowed CBC to just broadcast it then nobody buys the NHL package, its all about money and its not all on CBC's head, send a letter to the CTRC for allowing the NHL package to come in and cause all the regional issues......

Anybody ever tell you that when you assume you make an Ass of U and ME? I live in the Ottawa region, I am in 'City Limits' in the east, 1 hour from Scotia Bank Place.

Saturday Nights are owned by CBC, nobody else has the rights to it. So this has nothing to do with NHL CI. There were many Saturday Nights where the Toronto Maple Leafs were not playing, Ottawa Senators were playing, and yet CBC chooses not to televise the game, at all, not even regionally. Take a look at the Senators schedule that lists both regional and national coverage.

Hmmm...
So apparently, in the near-future, CBC won't be the only ones allowed to show games on Saturday night. TSN and maybe even Sportsnet might be able to as well. Now, as for this starting next season, I haven't heard yet. But I seriously hope it does because I am getting so damn sick and tired of having to put my TV down and put my radio up during Saturday night games.

If so than IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! Hell, let A Channel pick up Saturday night games. Beats the hell out of about 4 old Cops episodes...

Had heard that too. CBC is slowly starting to lose control over the NHL games/schedule. Last season, the CBC held sole rights to both Conference Finals series. This year, TSN has had most of the Eastern series.

I'd like to echo Szuper and Rose's comments as well.

Yes Bob Cole hates the Sens, yes he's biased towards the Leafs, but that is not the main reason he should go.

The reason he should go is because he is incompetant, unoriginal, stale and boring, his attitude towards the Sens is just the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

He frequently screws up obvious facts in the game, player names, penalty calls, the score and various other stats. He has the same 2 or 3 adjectives/adverbs he uses for everything including my personal favourite "smartly" which is barely grade 3 English in my book.

He had his day, now he is senile, get him off the air.

Interesting since they at least sound 'alive' when doing the Edmonton games!  They actually sound like the want Edmonton to win....as opposed to the monotone, boring, inept play-by-play call when doing the Sens games.

Actually felt sorry for the Edmonton fans when I saw that the CBC had assigned Cole and Neale to those games.  Not surprised that Edmonton fans don't like them.  :shake:

Why do people who support Bob Cole sign the petition against him just to write a message? It makes no sense!

Hmmm...
A-Channel picking up games on Saturday nights? Now that would be a great idea because...
1. You would have Dean Brown and Gord Wilson doing the play-by-play.
2. You would have the post game with Kevin Evraire, Lee Versage, and Rob Murphy.

Well,
I just signed the petition...I was the 3061st person to do so...My guess is that whoever started the petition, which looks to be somebody who works at Hot 89.9, is trying to get 10,000 signatures, come on people...SIGN THAT PETITION!
