Calgary and Sutter

Now that that moron Button is history and Sutter has taken his place, do you think that the Flames have a chance at making the post-season? Not too sure if the Coach position has been filled yet either, but who would be the best candidate?

I personally think that Cow-town is gonna do ALOT better with Sutter, and that Lanny McDonald should be the bench boss.

Hell, bring back the prodigal son Fleury too!
He's a fan fav in Calgary, and would probably thrive once he's back to his roots.

I don't think its coaching or anything like that in Calgary. I just think they need a couple of more scorers to put the puck in the net because they don't have enough of them. They were bottom five in scoring the past 3 seasons. I think their core blue line with Boughner and Co. is fine but they need more depth upfront.

Suggestion: Why not trade Iginla for 2 forwards and a draft pickle? Lundmark and Holik + pick for Iginla? Or Bonk and Arvedson + pick for Iginla?

Wasn't the coaching that was the problem.
Management butchered what little they had.
Button was a babbling fool, and it probably took minimal effort from Sutter to oust him and take over.
Button made some retard decisions/moves that he had to pay for, and 5 years out of the playoffs?

I totally agree with you doc on the Iggy idea. Problem is that Iginla is a fan fav, and is about the only thing that fills the seats at the Saddledome.

Unless Calgary picks up another recognizable name for Iginla, they'll screw themselves hard in sales. Getting Fleury and McDonald back in the org. might do it, and we all know that Theo will come cheap when he's done his probation.
If they traded off Iginla, they'd better hope to high hell that what they get in return wins them some games, otherwise the fans will simply stop buying tickets. The Management in Calgary needs to understand that they aren't TO, and their fans aren't mindless.

We'll see what Sutter does with what little he has to work with.
