They will have to do one of two things in my opinion:

1) win the ECF and go farther than the Laughs have gone in modern history

2) paste the Laughs during the playoffs next year.

I'm counting on #1 myself.
I suppose with Chara gone... I need a new sig line...

They have the monkey of their backs...but anything less than a stanley cup final appearance would be dissapointing considering they won the president's trophy. I don't think they have anything to prove to anyone, except to themselves. Final 4 is a huge accomplishment...but they're gonna go all the way this time, I know it!

I think what our organization has done this year beyond anything else is we finally grew up and realized things don't revolve around the Leafs.  Hopefully we can train the few Sens fans that continue to harp on the Leafs garbage all the time and train them that they are just another team we have to beat.  If we so happen to face them in the playoffs next year or beyond we need to treat them exactly the way we handled NYI and Philly.

Toronto is not to be worried about anymore...they have there own problems.

Cheers

Bonzai & Jenn--spot on!  Time to show that our team can roll through the playoffs like they did in the regular season, regardless of who we face.  Total focus on the grand prize until you make it all the way there.

Of course they weren't.  8)

I was deferring to your better judgement  :!:  :!:

You gave me alot to think about. You see I'm a former Leafs fan and that's kinda like being a former smoker - makes you all obsessive.

Well, if you all think that Ottawa has gotten that monkey off their backs, what happens if we don't win the cup or make it past NJ?
I can GAURANTEE that the monkey we just got rid will morph into a Gorilla if we don't at least make it to the finals!
We MUST beat down the Devils, and cement ourselves as one of the powerhouses in the league! At least that way we can shut up the naysayers who still look down in our Sens with contempt!
Yes, then, when its all said and done, we can take our time and make the Leafs our plaything

P.S. Yes, I hate the Leafs, and NOTHING will ever change that fact. Just like generations before us that were Montreal/Toronto fans that hated one another, I hate the Laffs, and want them to DIE :!:

i think that in a sense they have A monkey off their back. they can win in the playoffs. they can score in the playoffs. their big guns can perform in the playoffs. however the leafs are one challenge that we havent got to overcome yet. this year we woul definatley have. and its a consilation that we beat the team that beat them. ah well. well just destroy them next year.

After tonights performance, I don't think that the monkey is gonna be coming back any time soon.  8)

Its so sweet seeing these announcers and commentators finally learning the Sens players names and numbers.
