Not because he's on my team or anything but it totally was in the heat of the moment...a buddy of mine even told me he's had that happen to him as well during fights without even realizing it.

As for Tucks haunting him being distasteful naaaaaaaa I don't see it players are CONSTANTLY haunting each other after fights and stuff...Jansen was giving it back during the fight by winding up his fist & s*it!

Heat of the moment or not, completely unacceptable. I wouldn't defend anybody on the Sens who started beating some other guy with HIS OWN EQUIPMENT.

He should get five games.

I'm not saying it was acceptable!!!!!

But it's not like he wanted to bash him with the helmet!

Havlat's was also in the heat of the moment.¬† I used that as well, but not as an excuse.  It should have no bearing.  It certainly didn't in the Havlat cases.

Holy. I wasn't implying that you said it was acceptable. Calm yourself.

EDIT: Seems Tucker was simply fined by the league, not suspended.

This was easily comparable to the Havlat incident. The NHL's inconsistancy is a joke.

I am majorly po'd.

While I'm sure Tucker didn't mean it, the fact remains he hit a player TWICE with his helmet. There may have been no damage, but it still didn't change the fact that what he did was highly dangerous.

What a complete f*cking joke.

What a ****' joke. Havlat's instance was also in the heat of the moment, yet he gets 5 games and Tucker gets a tiny fine.

:icon_applause2: Campbell. You still the king of inconsistancy. :shake:

Grapes will probably touch on this during tonight's Coach's Corner.

Wow, what a save by Marc-Andre Fleury on Kilger. He has been spectacular thus far this season and is really blossoming into the franchise goaltender the Pens need.

I think he should have got a suspension, if you look at the highlights it looks deliberate. You don't hit somebody with a helmet...but this is Tucker were talking about.

Only at the beginning of the game. But it was very brief. Nothing during Coach's Corner though.

Random stat I dug up:

Points per game for a defenceman:

1. W. Redden 1.25 (30/24)
2. B. McCabe 1.19 (43/36)
.
.
.

I think it was brought up in a recent thread as well. Either way, this further proves my point that Redden HAS to be re-signed this off-season. I don't think it's any coincidence that the PP is starting to click once Redden returned to the lineup.

And people wanted McCabe on Team Canada purely for his offensive capabilities. Why not have a D-man you can work the PP as well as execute basic defensive plays?

Am I imagining this? EVERY time I see Sundin score a goal in the highlights, it's a bad goal. Today his point shot was redirected by an opposing player to the top corner over Fleury's shoulder. Otherwise, I see him get lucky bounces that leave him with an empty net, I see him get easy rebounds or easy goals generated by a good passing play by a teammate. I know he's a good player, but how many QUALITY goals has he scored this year?
