Ottawa Senators goaltender Martin Prusek is an exception to the rule when it comes to today's NHL netminders.

In an age in which even modest teenage prospects attend exclusive summer goaltending schools and most NHL teams employ a coach to work strictly with netminders, Prusek arrived in North America as a 25-year-old in September 2001, having received no formal goaltending coaching at any level.
