Forsberg For Spezza and?
« on: November 20, 2006, 11:26:33 PM »
Why not?
Really think about it....

Forsberg - Alfie - Heatley Scooooooressss. or whatever but Peter would be perfect I think. Sorry to say this to Spezzaa fans but spezza gives bad vibes to this team, AND.... Peter have experience AND has Won Stanley....He is perfect.  Except his stupid injuries :smily1263: Anyway let me dream....

Just a thought..........

A 23 year old franchise center for an upcoming UFA whose injury prone?  I'm a huge Forsberg fan, but this is rediculous.

The amount of hate for Spezza is hilarious.  29 other teams would kill to get this guy.
For me, if it takes the end of the world to save the world, then so be it.

I don't have a problem with freedom of speach, but seriously Forsberg?  Yes he still has some terrific skill, but he is on the shelf more often than not.  Since going to Philly, he has been nothing but a let down because of his non-stop, cronic injuries.

I know but I just feel that "Foppa" (Forsberg) and "Affe" (Alfie) would have made a radar couple, they've always played well together in Team Sweden. I mean Peter in Philly is not doing well and Spezza in Ottawa is not doing well, you know what I mean.
Dont be harsh on me ok, I know I am very hasty but,  I truly love my team u know. :happy fan:

No problem...Don't take the post personally.  I'm sure I've come up with some brilliant posts of my own in the past
I just simply cannot see Foppa in a Sens Jersey. Remember Sami Salo?  Same thing, just when you needed him the most, he would go down. No fault of his own...just prone to injury and had bones made of glass.
And yes, I know Salo is doing ok out west but he still gets the injury bug from time to time.

Forsberg and Alfie play on seperate lines for Team Sweden, because they reportedly do not like each other one bit. Alfie always plays with his good friend Mats Sundin when representing the mother land.

At this point in Forsberg's career, I'd hesitate to trade any roster player for him, unless he was a trade deadline aquisition, and he was 100% healthy.

Spezza for Forsberg, are you serious?  A healthy up and coming 23 year old superstar for an injury prone 33 year old who is probably going back to Sweden after this year.   Why all this hate for Spezza?  Isn't he exactly what all you people were screaming for a couple of years ago when Jacques Martin, according to many, would not release the offensive potential in Spezza?

Would I like to see Forsberg in a Sens uniform, for sure.  But just before the trade deadline, if the Flyers are out of it, then offer a first rounder and a prospect for him.

If we could get Forseberg without parting with our big 3 somehow, I'd be for it. The guy has won a stanley cup. The experience would be nice.

There's a huge difference between being an offencive- minded player, and a player who plays for himself and puts in lacklustre efforts.

We aren't in a position to take a gamble like that.

Spezza plays for himself?  The guy is a pass first, shoot second type of player.  He is a gifted offensive player who likes to play with a bit of pizzazz.  He needs to develop his defensive game, but he is young.  Stevie Y took over ten years before he became a two way player.

Some of you "fans" are hillarious.  If the Sens had listened to many of these fans, Wade Redden, Chris Philips, Anton Volchenkov, Jason Spezza, etc.. would have been traded by the age of 22.  Be careful what you wish for.  I said on these boards that Martin Havlat should be traded and now that he is gone, I regret even thinking about it.

With all his injuries and his age, Forsberg is not the dominant player he once was. He's lost a step and he's a UFA at the end of the year..so no deal...

Come trade deadline though, Forsberg will be in very high demand so it'll take at least a first round pick to add him...for a playoff team where the pick is later in the first round, that's a fair price to pay for Foppa...

if Forsberg goes anywhere it will be back home (I beleive) if he is still around at he trade deadline and he has one last shot with a contender he would be a good pick up but this is his last season in the NHL so don't be thinking about giving up too much for him

I'd rather shoot myself quite frankly.  I think there is way too much spezza hate out there, the guy is improving its quite obvious and forsberg is health about 20% of the time, that leaves us where?  With vermette/fisher as our first line center haha good joke.  Not to mention foppa's large salary.  I want to see spezza with the sens for a long long time.  I think the guy has tremendous heart, which was shown in the playoffs last year.  We shall see this year what really happens though.

I get player's comments. It isn't about passing vs scoring.

It it about playing a TEAM system, dumping the puck into the zone rather than using rookie jr moves at the blueline, it is about being patient and being careful with the puck when it is a close game, it is about listening to the coach ...

... Spezza has demonstrated many times that he does put himself before the team ...

... hopefully he'll mature ...
