Why are roster players untouchable to Muckler?
« on: February 26, 2007, 05:13:53 PM »
What is this guy's obsession with not trading roster players? If it brings us the player we need then fine, make the trade! With all the free agents these days, very few players are irreplaceable. Why would Eaves be untouchable? I like him too but come on, it's not like the Sens couldn't live without him. And is he going to be the difference maker in a cup run? Muckler!!! Lighten up! :dash2:

Muckler's holding his cards tight to the vest.  Don't worry, he's like a gazillion years old and this is probably his last chance at The Cup before going to the ice pond in the sky. :laugh2:  He's going to make a move and WILL use a roster player IF absolutely necessary.  But it's gonna go to the wire!!!

Russell, you're panicking, just like Muck's knows is happening with GM's around the league and will feast on it.  He WILL make a trade, you just watch!  :ccclapping:

Muck's is ole skool baby!  He's gonna lie, cheat, steal, rape and pillage to get something done on his last chance at kicking the can. Can't believe anything he says publicly.  He's positioning himself!

Melnyk's gonna fire his ass if we get nowhere this playoffs and he did nothing at the deadline!  :woohoo

Of course, there's ALWAYS room to panic when it comes to Muck's trade deadline moves. Maybe we should hope he doesn't!  :icon_rofl

Muckler is of the old school of thought, from back when the number of good free agents every summer was slim at best. You couldn't trade good players then because it was tough to replace them. You know the saying: can't teach an old dog new tricks.

My apologies Russell!!!  :2-oops:   I have gotten off the Muckler bandwagon, MY BAD BAD BAD!!!   :bag:

Muckler will be, thankfully, gone this spring because, yet AGAIN, we have failed to pick up what has been missing on our club. Roberts and perhaps Smyth were staring right down our barrel and Muck's didn't care about TODAY's Stanley Cup.  I really thought Muckler would be the GM who realized this missing ingredient and would address it but, I guess not.....   :icon_fryingpan:

Who do we have as a Stanley Cup playing champion or monster playoff performer because we have gone NOWHERE without one like all the other Stanley Cup winning teams have?

NOBODY

Who do we have with a Cup?

Gerber, and he didn't play one second to earn it.....  :icon_stirthepot:

There's so much to say.............I guess I'll save most of it for the show. I'm just befuddled by this. I just can't understand muckler's unwillingness to do what iso obviously needed to be done. And it was sitting there on a silver platter for him. I'm so frustrated!!! Why is Muckler the only one in the hockey world that doesn't understand what Ottawa needs?

Who knows maybe this will work out, maybe this is the year the guys we have figure it out. But Roberts was just so obvious........ And think about this. Mucks wouldn't trade a roster player for Roberts but now he'll sit one in the press box for Saprykin. Tell me the logic in that. That's great for chemistry. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dash2:

I hate to state the obvious...but......    It's called depth.  Without the player in the box, we are down 1 player on the roster unless you call someone up from Bingo.  It was said once that teams are going to be built in the summer now..not at the trade deadline.    Jersey didn't do anything...at least Mucks brought us something with the 3 players we now have.
