What great news! locked these guys up for years to come. We have the best shut-down tandem in the league for the next three years at least! :happy dance:

We definately have them both for the next three years, providing nothing goes wrong and we trade them for some reason.  If A-Train bolts after his three years is up, we have Chris for at least one year after that.

These two contracts certainly have to rank in the top-five 'moves' by Muckler since he came here as GM.  Terrific 'value' for two superb d-men!  Way to go, Mucks!  And my hat is off to both Phillips and Volchenkov for being "team guys" and getting that in the new cap era loyalty still is worth something!   :smily698:

Wow, amazing deals.  Is there any better defensive duo in the Eastern conference?  Two Standout defensivemen for $27.5 million is a steal.  Bryan McCabe's entire contract was worth that much, and he can't even skate backwards!
