It can't get worse, so what the hey.  Like the article said, Neale was basically MIA for the Sabres series.

Greg Milne

 :icon_vomit:

Mr. Greg "You know, I was talking to [name player here] after the morning skate and I told him ..." Milne
Mr. Greg "That's one he would like to have back" Milne
Mr. Greg "That's the problem with the two referee system" Milne
Mr. Greg "That must of hit a stick on the way in, let's look at the replay, yeah, yeah, I think it might of hit a stick" Milne

BTW --- after 40+ years covering hockey, do you think at some point Bob or Harry will pick up on the idea that a penalty is called (whistle blown) when the penalized team gains possession of the puck? Why all this nedless confusion after every play is blown to call a penalty?

I think I'll be scanning the air waves for a better broadcast crew....

I hate CBC..they stick it to us everytime when in fact they know full well which announcers we'd prefer.  Hell, I'll even take Hrudy and the other guy from the West over Dumb, Dumber and "When I played-Millen"

Millen reminds me of a shifty-eyed weasel. His mission in life seems to be to make excuses for the goalie every time a goal is scored.

"I think he was screened"
"It hit something on the way in"
"It took a funny bounce"

And these comments were from a shootout.

Ahh, maybe his job is player identification and name pronounciation coach for Bob and Harry!  They are barely getting the Senators after doing a couple of series, I imagine the Ducks will totally blow their circuits.

"Bob, I talked to Jason Spezza this morning and because I'm such a genius I specifically asked him about the play that just occurred because I knew it would happen!"

"Giguere had no chance.  Looks like Fisher deflected the Wade Redden point shot.  By the way, when I talked to Mike Fisher this morning he told me wanted to deflect more Wade Redden point shots. Ok it looks like on the replay Fisher didn't touch it but I'm sure his stick actually did."

Yay!  Just the thing to make me actually feel grateful Harry Neale is on. Clever move CBC.

Haha, this thread is comic relief.  Millen is a gong show!

Hey you forgot one.

Mr. Greg "That shouldn't have been a penalty, the player fell into the stick" Milne

Ya, we lost Game #2, but the greatest thing I've ever heard took place during the CBC broadcast.

The summary, from Jay Onrait's blog on tsn.ca...

So anyway, Snoop is asked if he would throw it up to Bob Cole in the broadcast booth, and he says this:

"For shizzle dizzle it's the big Snoopy D.O.-DOUBLE-DIZZLE! I'm gonna shoot it back to my main man Bob Cole! Take it away would you please?"

and Bob's reaction?

"Allright Daddy... I got ya! That's the coolest man! Allright... let's see what's kickin' here in the third"

That's just outstanding.

Have to say Bob + Harry + Millen is better than Bob + Harry only.  It's woken Harry up and Millen's input, though predictable at times, is better.   Kinda like seeing your kid get a C after a D on the report card last term.

I'm tempted to make a reel of comparing Ottawa goals vs their opponents goals and send it to CBC...

We stopped listening to the CBC feed during the Jersey series.  Cannot stand it.  The match-up with the Team 1200 radio feed has been very good.

And even if it did not match up so well, we would not be listening to the CBC any more....too stress-inducing.  Got enough to worry about during playoff games without getting all ticked off at those bozos!  They are disgraceful, IMHO, on a whole variety of fronts....from mispronounciation of names, total ignorance of what is happening at times, etc., etc. not to mention their total lack of enthusiasm for anything Sens-related.

LOL.  I have the earbud in one ear during games.  I agree, for some reason it's a lot less stressful listening to the Team's call.

RDS has been a lot better during this round. And even if sometimes you can feel some of the crew has a bone to pick with Ottawa at least they know what's going on on the ice. Cole needs 5 seconds after each play to figure out what happened.

Viva bilinguilism! ;)
