I don't think  Bassman is mature enough to take it private, judging by all the postings I have read on this thread, He needs to be noticed and has some attention disorders of sorts....and seeing your a moderator here......a suggestion.........perhaps you should be respectful and repesent The Sens organization better by asking that your members don't put negitave signatures towards other teams.......we don't need to see his feelings for the Leafs everytime he posts!

For your information I did take it private. My mental health is none of your concern and my signature doesn't break the rules If you want to turn off signatures you can do that under your account options.

I don't understand why JFJ keeps throwing away the picks...................the future for wht he is gettng, I think Raycroft and Toskala are going tobe a good combo, that is if Toskula can take the fishbowl life , I know he will allow raycroft to rest more, which can only help

I said right at the beginning of this topic that it was a wicked 1-2 combo, that's if they keep Raycroft. Almost wish ya didn't trade away Rask now.

Yep ... I've never been a real big fan of Raycroft but a duo of him and Toskala is a decent improvement in nets.

They traded Rask because Pogge was the fad last season.  He was the young Canadian guy that everyone one loved (and was at the top of his game).  Several Marlies and Leaf fans thought he would step into the AHL and just dominate, some even thought he'd go straight to the NHL.  Pogge is a good goalie, but Rask is the better of the two.  Pogge still has a few more years to develop in the AHL.  My predicition is that he'll have another tough year this season coming up -- not only him, but the lack of defense.

Leafs obviously didn't have confidence in Raycroft -- not great for the ego, could go either of the two ways...  Raycroft will not want to be a backup...

I wouldn't call Raycroft a savior by any means. He wasn't even that great in juniors.

I was wondering about that as well.  While I certainly did not point the finger of blame towards Raycroft last season solely (because the Leafs have certainly some issues with their offensive unit not to mention that, IMHO, their defence is not that great), it would seem that their priority was to get a new GK which signalled to me that there would be a possibility that Raycroft's days in the blue-and-white may be numbered.  I saw Maurice today on OTR and he said that they would play as a tandem and, as such, he felt that the 'competitive nature' of such an arrangement would raise both Toskala's and Raycroft's games.  But it seemed to me when Toskala was signed, he was pleased to go to TO because he would be given "more" playing time than he had in SJ.  Mixed messages?  They are to me.

Should be interesting.  But if the Leafs have a decent back-up in their system for Toskala, trading Raycroft could possibly bring them some more scoring prowess (in addition to Blake) that they sorely need.

A this point I think they would be happy enough to clear the cap space.  They'll use the two of them and move Raycroft first chance they get, then call up Clemmensen.

He barely played last year but I don't think his agent would get him to sign unless there was a good shot at a backup position.

I guess JFJ didn't like the future upside of Raycroft, who has always had a big billing to live up to.  It's just hard to give up on a keeper after only 1 season and give up more assets so quickly.   I hiope Toskala works out, because he at some point he will need to stand with what he did.
