Turns out they both got fined.  That's about as harsh as the NHL wanted to go considering where they are in the playoffs.  Good enough I guess.  :rolleyes

I would agree 99% of the time, but in this instance, Osgood deserved something. Or are you saying he should have gotten away with what he did?

No no, both deserve suspension for their actions.

Ya, true but didn't and wouldn't happen at this time and for something like that.  What they SHOULD start doing is handing out replica Oscars (with permission) to players they catch doing that stuff. :)  Keep them in the timekeepers box or something.

Nice to see Dallas win one last night.  They certainly seemed to regain some of the energy they brought to the previous series they had against San Jose and Turco seemed much more solid than the first three games against the Wings.  Still a very tough hill to climb but nice for their fans to see their team win, at least, one game in their conference finals.

Tough call on the "no goal" as well, Detroit got away with on early in the season, but the standard seemed to have changed now. It's a tough call, the NHL needs to bring in video review now to determine if goalie contact has been made AT ALL similar as to what they do with high-sticks.

Tough call, I agree, on the ruled out Detroit goal but since there is no video review for those, I can live with it if only because I don't want to have much, if anything, more go to video review.  If you could have reviewed it, then would you have to review it when a player like Holmstren (sp?) IS in the crease too?  Could Dallas have had previous incidents reviewed?  At some point, the ref's call has to be accepted, IMHO.

The ref should be focusing on the puck crossing the line because the ref can not see things going so fast to determine correctly if contact with the goalie happened moments before, during or after the puck found its way, and any contact with the goalie should result in no goal.

I say this because defencemen are are powerless against forwards park in the net because they get called for hooking, holding, roughing, sneezing, coughing, or just merely breathing on the forward, yet a forward can go into the blue paint and remove limit any efforts that could be made by the goalie to challenge the shooter and make a save, and if he reacts to the forward being in the blue paint, he gets called for it.

After the first period, I stopped watching. I'm listening to the TV while I do other things; it doesn't seem good for the Stars. :-/

4-0 and the domination is complete with Zetterberg undressing Turco on a shorthanded breakaway.     The only drama left is whether Osgood gets a shutout and if Dallas can get 20 shots in the game.   9 shots half way through the 2nd and after 4 Star pps.

Osgoode did not get his shut-out and the Stars ended up with 25 shots or thereabouts.  The Stars came out 'pumped up' (finally) in the third but it was all for naught.  Should be a good SCF with Detroit and the Penguins.
