Really don't like it. Sens go for another average goaltender who lost his job.

2nd round as well to sens.
Go Canucks, Go Sens.

senschirp too:  Vermette to Columbus for Pascal Leclaire

Let's hope Leclaire is healing well.  That's a big $$ hit at 3.6 and 4.8 over two years.  Cap hit of 3.6.

I hope that there is a low pick coming our way as well.

I expect to see Smith moved now to make more $$ room for Kuba and Leclaire.

Too many question marks surrounding Leclaire in my opinion.  Murray is a liar.  haha

Another goalie made of glass..

Atleast we received a 2nd round pick. We will regret losing Vermette.

Noooo we finally had six top 6 forwards to finally have scoring depth and now we trade one. Imagine keeping the 6, having foligno up his totals to maybe near 20 goals. We would be a top offensive team again.

He's not an average goalie, the guy is a 1st round pick 8th overall who showed his wears last year. He didn't lose his job because Mason was playing great, the guy had season ending surgery. He has become expendable because of the play of Mason. I think we have finally got our NO.1 goalie.

Even if Leclaire is a bust, I still thought he had enough game to warrant more than what Howson got.  I'm sure Murray insisted on the draft pick - Howson probably dangled a depth player at the start of negotiations.

Look for an Auld trade in the next couple of hours.

Look at it this way, we already had that money allotted to Gerber so it doesn't really mess up the salary structure.

I thought the consensus on Leclaire wasn't that he ended up being bad, but rather that Mason ended up being so good.  There aren't many goalies out there for trade or free agency.  We may have ended up with the best one available.

We needed a No.1 goalie far more then we need a offensive player at this time.

I'll miss Vermette, he was one of our favorites when he played in Bingo.   I hope this LeClaire guy is a good pick up and will be better then Gerber.  I guess he can't be much worse right?   :icon_hiding2:

Actually the Sens GF and GA stats, suggest the complete opposite.

He's injury-prone and he never played well enough for long enough like Mason has. Leclaire reminds me a lot of gerber...

Leclaire is done for the year isn't he?  You thinking they are going to dress Gerbs and Elliot and trade Auld?
