Caps started strong and scored first but NYR came back with two PPGs to take the lead.

Avery was definitely a factor as well.

Theodore let the Caps down big time.

The Caps started the rookie in nets (Kharlamov or something like that) and he played admirably but the Rangers managed to play a solid game and won it 1-0.  Lundqvist had an excellent game, but the Caps rookie GK still had  a save percentage of .958 which is not too shabby.  Good end-to-end action but the Caps are in trouble down two games heading for MSG.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Rangers take the series except I just can't bring myself to cheer for Avery.

Come on OV..... let's go.

I'm ecstatic of the thought of Washington choking.  Here's hoping Redden and the Rags don't...

Theodore on the bench.  And we thought the Gerber signing was bad.

Avery is the main reason I picked the Caps on another thread.  But yesterday, I found myself 'cheering' on the 'underdog' Rangers.   :smily677:

Ovechkin better start remembering that there are 4 other skaters on with him.  He got two good linemates along with a Norris candidate and he just shoots from everywhere.  Lundqvist knows where the shot will some from and it lets him cheat on him.

That's different from the regular season how?   :smily1263:

They're (Caps) doing pretty well tonight.  It's a fast game with lots of scoring chances.

Rookie goalies in the playoffs may not be such a bad thing anymore. Nice to see the caps responding, hopefully they tie it up.

I did not see anything but the "low-lights" of this game and you are absolutely right....Avery is very, very annoying (an understatement, I know).

I don't care for Avery.  It's always a toss up for him.  Sometimes valuable, and sometimes a threat.  Tonight he was a threat.

I am still rooting for the Rags ... even with Avery.
