I can't watch tonight - Christmas party at the NAC to attend - but hopefully the guys will have a good outing. I read in the paper that Picard might be back tonight....does that mean Campoli will sit? My son has promised that he will text me the scores so I won't be totally out of the loop. Kind of wish I could just stay in and watch the game since putting the kitchen back together (all the while admiring my new counter tops!) has been/is a bit of a grind. LOTS going out in the garbage though. Amazing what one 'collects' that is never used over the years!!

Quick question.....how long has that curling event been called that "Roar of the Rings?". I don't recall hearing that moniker before this year.

I believe the "Roar of the Rings" is only for Olympic team selection, so it's not an annual event.

Correct...this is the series to select the teams to represent Canada at the Olympics.

That's an interesting location for a Christmas party. Are you going to a play or renting out a hall there?

On a more, on topic note, I predict the attendance for this game is going to be very bad. There were 4000 tickets left at one point this week.

I agree that attendance will be bad.....it will be a busy night for people with Christmas parties, etc. And it's the Hurricanes who I doubt are considered a big draw in addition to the challenges the team are already having this year attendance-wise.

Which leads me to a question: Since the Sens/Hurricanes is apparently the "national game" on HNIC tonight, will it be the game shown on replay after the western game? It would be nice to catch it later on this evening.

The party is an annual one I attend held in the Panorama Room (second level) looking out on the Canal and the Chateau on one side and the NAC lobby on the other side. It's held annually by an architect that I have known for years (went to high school with his daughter). It's lovely, the food is amazing and everything is gratis including parking. Very nice and we get to see the Christmas lights downtown every year from this lovely vantage point while sipping cocktails.

I was looking at the Rogers guide last night, and every CBC channel had the Leafs/Wash game, except one channel for Ottawa and one channel for Montreal...

Didn't think it would make a big difference down here behind enemy lines. CBC Toronto would have the regional game, which would be the Leafs anyway.

I always have to flip to CBC Ottawa to get the Sens, and it's not in HD...even if it's broadcast that way...

Kovalev is very noticeable tonight. Its already his best game in a long while, even if he goes back to his old self for the second half of the game.
