Just heard on the CTV-Ottawa 6:00 p.m. news that both Pascal Leclaire and Chris Neil will be in the line-up for the game against the Penguins.   :woohoo

As a result, Mike Brodeur and Josh Hennessy were returning to Binghamton today.

Apparently Donovan is back in the lineup tonight as well!

The Ottawa Senators have a date with the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins tonight in Pittsburgh. The Senators will have three injured players back in the lineup, with Pascal Leclaire getting the start in goal and Chris Neil and Shean Donovan back on patrol up front.

Interesting.  I heard Ottawa media in Pittsburgh report after the team's morning skate and it was stated that Shean was "accompanying the team" and was "very close to returning...likely soon after Christmas".   :smily677:

I wonder if Donovan will go after Cooke. A knee to the side of the leg, perhaps.  :smily1263:

Yep....they are talking about that right now on the Team as they express their surprise that he is playing tonight!  Mendes is saying that Donovan had "circled this date on his calendar" as his personal goal to be back playing.  Pretty good predicter!

Neil and Donovan both in the line-up tonight.  Hmmmm.....wonder if that will change the 'complexion' of the game somewhat tonight.   :smily1263:

Lines in the pre-game skate were:

Michalek-Regin-Alfredsson
Cheechoo-Fisher-Kovalev
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Donovan-Winchester-Shannon

I'm kind of disapointed that they split up the Ruutu-Kelly-Cheechoo line, but with 2 players drawing back into the lineup its probobly time of a reshuffle. Regin's been playing better than Winchester of late (at least offensively) so I like him on the top line, but I would've liked to see Kelly up there now that he's split up with Cheechoo. Neil just won't be able to cycle like Cheechoo did. The forwards as a whole look a lot better though. Neil and Donovan are much more useful (in their role) than Hennessy and Campoli were.

They've already had the pre-game skate?

I just took the wording from the preview on the Sens' website. (At the bottom)

Adams is going to get it and get it BIG TIME.  For the ref to not call that hit is criminal.  Like the announcers said, this game is going to go to shit now.

I'm not so sure about it being a penalty, but it was dirty. It was a blindside, which isn't neccessarily a penalty under the rules, but should be. I didn't quite see if he hot his elbow up though. If it was an elbow to the head, than that was definately a dirty hit that deserved to be penalized. I hope this lights a fire under us.

Oh, and for all those that think the Sens are a whiny team, we aren't even the whinniest team on the ice right now. Rupp and Fedetenko were whining on their ways to the box, so was Adams even though he wasn't even getting a penalty. Crosby was whining on behalf of others once or twice as well.

The Penguins announcers aren't very good.  Not major homers, just not very bright.

Clean hit on Alfie. Sucks, but the elbow was down. It could have been much much worse. Alfie will be ok though it looked worse than it was.
Luongo sucks.

So much for the Penguins having the worst powerplay in the league.

Good on Neil for drawing the penalty from Rupp.
