He's the offensive Smith, right?  So I am assuming that he is called up due to Michalek's injury....so I guess Donovan is just not seen as an option? :smily677:

I feel pretty bad for Cheechoo. Too bad but I guess it is what it is.  I'm sure he realizes all of that.  At least for Bingo, he's not someone to pout.  He really is a hard worker.  I'd LOVE to have him here again next season.   :nod:   He's been wearing the "A"  almost since he came down.  With Hamel almost certainly retiring, he would be a great leader, IMHO.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cheechoo gets another chance next year. Maybe spending a few months in the AHL riding the buses will wake something extra in him. He isn't missing much. I lost count of how many posts he hit in Ottawa.

Anyone have some insight as to why Smith was called up? We're already carrying one healthy scratch, and I can't imagine we would call him up unless he would be playing every game.
