Only ten days to go until the Senators are back. The Senators should have the upper hand here as Ottawa's goalies will be well rested. Lundqvist should be fatigued.

Sometimes, though, being well-rested means you are rusty...I find particularly with goaltenders.  But your point is well-taken.

Have to admit....as much as I enjoy the Olympics, I do miss watching the Senators.

Rangers recalled Corey Potter from the AHL in case Del Zotto is not available.

How did Lee play tonight?  I missed most of the game because I had something important to do and only managed to catch the last 5 minutes.  I managed to catch him going after Avery after Avery went after Cullen, which was nice to see. Plus he didn't look to bad in the last few minutes of the game.

But like I said, I didn't see the whole game.  And what happened to Kuba?
There are good coaches and there are bad coaches, the real question is "Do you want this person to be a role model to your kids for the next 6 months".  That's the question you have to ask yourself.

Lee played OK. Didn't do anything spectacularly well or badly, had a couple of decent shots from the point. Volchenkov wasn't so wonderful though, and Carkner just plain stunk.

Kuba did something to his foot apparently, but I couldn't see how it happened despite watching the replay.

I wasn't to impressed with Carkner the last couple of games prior to the break.  Hopefully with Sutton in and Karlsson back he will get back to his game.

Oh, and Kelly was absolutely rotten as well - some criminal turnovers. I'm putting it down to being rusty from having been on holiday, they can have last night to get the pina colada out of their system but I'm expecting a proper performance tomorrow.

Boy oh Boy...They stunk the joint out last night  :laugh2:
Volchenkov didn't help his situation on the night....Carkner is still looking for his Shorts and everyone else just looked flat.
Only Spazz and Michalek looked like they had any interest of making a game of things.

C'est la Vie.... next

Likely it was the brewskis in their system from the Team Canada gold medal win on Sunday since the pina coladas should be out of their systems by now since they've been back in Ottawa for a week before last night!

And the game highlights from the Olympics during the anthems probably gave Callahan, Drury and Tortorella a bit of a 'jump' to elevate their 'games' last night too! ;)  In a Canadian rink, in the capital of Canada, it must have been a bit grueling having to sit through those highlights and likely the rabid cheering of the fanbase afterwards.

As Dags said....onto the next game!

Something I had not thought of...but has been mentioned in years past.

It was the eve of trade deadline day.  I wonder if some of our younger players were nervous and that just compounded things last night?

Funny, same theory some had for the Leafs disgusting display last night.  Then I read Ron Wilson saying that the Canes had more players on the trading block than Toronto did.

No, I don't believe it was the trade deadline or the break.  The Sens and Leafs just played crappy games last night.  No excuses for either of them.

Let's see what happens the rest of the week.

I just read that they showed the Canadian goals during the Star Spangled Banner!  Please tell me that's not true.

If I remember I'll ask my in-laws as they were at the game.
