Great insight by the emailer - hope he/she won emailer of the day and week.

Unfortunately I did not get to hear the end of the show so I don't know if it was the winner....but I agree it hit the nail on the head!!

Do you mean Hossa contributed nothing this year or the previous two to that team's playoff success? As far as I know it, he sure as hell contributed this year.

Three goals in 22 games is not much of a contribution for a 5.275m player.  Martin Erat did better than that and the Preds were out in the first round.  He works hard enough but he's in no way a money player.

I agree that three goals ^^ is not great, but how many assists did he get?  Hossa works very hard game in and game out and while goals are necessary, getting the puck to the people who DID put it into the net is sometimes just as important.

And equally as important is keeping the puck away from the other teams' scorers, which Hossa did very well through the whole playoffs. He was a bit snake bitten for goals, but he was competing hard, his defensive play was great, and I thought he played really well offensively, creating tons of chances.

:icon_agree:  Besides, Captain Serious (Toews) was not a goal-scoring machine during the SCF either but he managed to still win the Conn Smythe.  Sometimes hard work is rewarded and, for Hossa, that meant getting the Stanley Cup....finally!

He got 12 assists that isn't bad but not worth his salary.  He played fine and worked hard but as usual he failed to produce as he should in the playoffs.
