A wacky game. What do you suppose the over/under is on 9 goals being scored in any game for the rest of the series?

I guess that's the moment overwhelming players. It's understandable.

I like both of these teams. I guess I'm slightly rooting for Chicago b/c it's better for hockey. I say Hawks in 6.

They refer to him as "car bomb" carcillo, and a "tough guy".... Is this the same carcillo as this guy?...

Carcillo is really embarrassing himself.  I'm surprised he's dressed.  I thought he would have sat this series out.

:icon_agree: :icon_agree:

Pronger is obviously the golden boy so far because he's in front of the net crosschecking over and over and over and no penalty.  He stands Byfuglien up at the blueline with no puck in sight and no penalty.

Good to see it 2-0.  Maybe that'll shut Carcillo up.  Oh, and what was with Carcillo complaining to the penalty box official? :)

This is such a busy time of year for me, I could only watch the game from a distance tonight while making a ton of phone calls in response to messages left on my 'work' phone.  However, a short review:

Carcillo is still an idiot!!   :shake:

The whistles seemed to have been put away for Pronger (very reminiscent of the Ottawa/Anaheim series for me) and his "tough play" which annoys me no end, especially since he's on the ice so freaking much!   :icon_angry2:

Marion Hossa FINALLY scored a goal which must have been a huge weight off his shoulders!

Leighton had a good bounce-back game after the fiasco that was game #1 for him.  Too bad - for him and only him - that it didn't result in a win but I can totally live with him getting the loss.

Niemi seemed to have an extremely strong game....especially in the late stages holding on for the 2-1 win.   :woohoo

Chicago is up two games to none heading to Philly and I am one very happy hockey fan!!!  GET 'ER DONE, 'HAWKS!!!!!!! :spin:

2 close one goal games in Chicago, Flyers making it tougher than a lot of people may have expected.

Moving to Philly going to mean a tie series a given, or is getting away from home what the Hawks need to get a siege mentality to get down to business?  Hawks took a couple of games before totally clicking against the Canucks and a sweep doesn't always put a team in to the right frame of mind for the next series.   Flyers have clawed all playoffs but I don't think they can play any better but the Hawks can.  Looking for a split in Philly.

Ben Eager, Ottawa guy, got a "History Will Be Made" clip:

Nah, Philly MIGHT take one game but I see the 'Hawks winning the cup.  Poor Pronger, what a moron.

Poor Pronger, what a moron.

Are you kidding?  If he plays out this contract he will have made more money in the NHL than any player in history.  Not to mention at this point he's a candidate for the Conn Smyth.  So Poor Pronger my ass.  He's playing great and the whole puck nonsense was brilliant.  It just redirects the focus from all the other players to Pronger who can handle it.

I see the Flyers winning tonight.

The media is making much more of the puck incident than any of the players.
Conn Smythe . . .maybe . . .but he's still a dick . . .I'm not a big fan.

I think so too, but I still see the hawks taking it.
They haven't played their best hockey yet and their up by 2 games.

Nope, not kidding.  He is a great player but he is dirty and gets away with it.  Now, the puck stuff was not brilliant.  He knows the winning team collects the puck so for him to do it is silly.

I don't recall bring up money so that point about him making the most of any player in NHL history is irrelevant to me thinking he's a moron. :)

That's a stretch.  I don't think anyone currently playing in the NHL is poor. :)  Overpaid yes but not poor.

I meant poor Pronger as in Poor Baby kinda deal. :)

If any player in a lower league had done what Pronger had, s/he would be taken to the "sportsmanship" woodshed and have his/her hide tanned figuratively speaking.  But when kids see this happen by the so-called professionals, and have so many people laud this action, why wouldn't they think that this is part of sportsmanship?  I think it is unfortunate.

He got a meaningless 10 minute misconduct for shooting the towel at Eager.  But what are you going to do?  Suspend him for picking up a puck?

I do not expect the league to take sanctions; it's impossible to define "good sportsmanship" in any rule book.  I would expect club executives to make it clear to all their players that while this is a business and they are in it to win, they are in it to win with dignity.  They are also expected to take losses with dignity.  They are role models and this is not modeling good behaviour by sportsmen/women.  I would also expect his peers to take issue with this behaviour.

As expected, reaction from the fan-base is mixed; some thinking this is fabulous and others thinking it is scandelous.
