Did you see the US goal that was called back for a foul that the ref never explained, or said who it was on, or what it was for.  FIFA isn't letting the ref do any more games.  US got totally jobbed in that game.

 :icon_agree:  That was awful.   :shake:

Yes and you are right, stupid refs.  I knew they hated us.     :sarcasm1

And once again USA gets jobbed on a goal vs. Algeria.  But in the end...

USA beats FIFA 1-0!  Try to call that one back!

It was an incredibly marginal call, and even with the benefit of multiple replays it's hard to call. I think the officials can be forgiven that one.

Germany beat England 4-1! It should have been 4-2. But the referee didn't see a goal go in.
Hopefully Argentina can beat Mexico. Mexico has been a surprise, you never know how they are going to play

Brutal missed call that would have made it 2-2.  Maybe some impact on how England would have played the 3rd goal, and it would have made two very quick strikes for England.   Overall, Germany was a better team, but that 2-2 goal after England was down and written off at 2-0 would have made a very, very compelling game.

I'm glad argentina won today. Although the first goal shouldn't have been a goal. :D

So, let me get this straight.  They suspend a soccer player for a "deliberate hand ball" but they do SFA to the players who dive and flop around like a fish out of water?  Wow, no wonder soccer blows.

I can't believe argentina lost 4-0 to germany. Hopefully spain whoops their asses. Luckily Muller is not playing vs spain. I think The netherlands are going to win the cup but I am hoping that spain wins the world cup

Glasshouses and all that, eh?

I appreciate that you don't like football and that's fair enough, but your attempted justification of that dislike in this situation is suspect. I agree that more retrospective penalties for diving would be a welcome addition, but it is already a punishable offence; it's just a little harder to prove, as it appears to also be in hockey based upon the above evidence.

You'll see MAYBE one flagrant dive per hockey game, but on the soccer/football world stage, you'll see a lot more than that. Not to mention that the refs in hockey have shown a lot more balls in telling the diver to get up without anything being called, or even calling a dive. We have yet to see that (as far as I know) in soccer/football.

If they could 'fix' that, then I'm sure many more people might give it a chance without bashing it right away.

Until then, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRO626ImQek
