You start this every season.   :smily677:  If you don't care, don't read about them.  Pretty simple isn't it.   :shake:

Age. You have to turn 20 in the current calendar year to be able to play in the AHL. Since he doesn't turn 20 until January 25, 2011, it was either the NHL or junior.

So in January cowen can play??

No, If you are not old enough at the start of the season, you are not eligible for the entire season.

Any reason why the B-Sens signed yet another goalie (Kalemba), with Lehner, Brust, Brodeur and I think Connelly already in the ranks? Brust is getting lit up tonight (6 goals in the first period so far) and Lehner isn't even dressed...

The ECHL team traded Connelly away, so we had to turn to someone new.

Its 7-2 now. They must really not trust Kalemba to be keeping Brust in there.

I *think* that if his junior team is done for the year, he might be able to. I'm not 100% certain though.

This is true. That's why Cowen could play for the Sens at the end of last year. They could've sent him to AHL instead but decided it'd be better for him to stay with the big club.

It's the curse of the goalies.   Lehner, Brodeur are both hurt.  Connelly was traded away so they got the "new" guy.

Apparently according to the coach Brust has had no help out there with defense in the first period.  The "new guy" has not even practiced with the Sens so I'm guessing that's why they didn't put him in goal.   Ryan Keller was also hurt.  I think these young kids are shell shocked by the Hershey Bears and the supposed "awwww" surrounding them.  This same thing happened the last game against Hershey.

You can tell this is a young team with all the ups and downs.  Also, this was Brust third game in three days.  He has been helping to carry this team so I am willing to give him a break.

And in case you are all wondering,  I hate the Bears, especially Keith Aucoin.    :paddle:

Yes as soon as a Junior or College team are done for the season, a player can come to the AHL.  However, the "big" team doesn't have to let them go to the AHL.  It's strictly up to them.

FYI:
Jim O'Brien has more goals this season then all of last season.

Bobby Butler has the most goals scored in the AHL so far.

Corey Locke has the most points in the AHL so far.

I could go on but I'd rather ask, "How come we ain't in first place?"

The answer to your question is likely consistency. Too many one-sided games either way. Stat padding in wins and high-risk plays once on the losing side of a one-sided game.  :smily677:

Well your are correct in saying too many inconsistent games.  One game they win by 5 the next they lose by 8.   :icon_banghead:
Still a young team but I am pleased with their games most of the time.

Lehner is ok now so he will be backing up Brust tonight.  Got to wonder if Brodeur will ever make it back.  :smily677:

I just wanted to start with the standings because this has to be the first time in YEARS (yes years) that Binghamton has been ahead of the Bears in the standings.  Before last night, the Bears had the Sens number by outscoring them 15-4.  Last night would be different though, when the B-Sens would beat the Bears, 4-2.  True some of the Bears top scorers were out sick with the flu but so was the AHL top scorer, Corey Locke.  Butler notched his league leading 14th goal as well as Condra, Schira and Wick (Open net).  Barry Brust was a beast in the net stopping 42 shots on goal and getting the assist with the open net goal.  It should also be noted that Brust has been in goal for ALL but two of the B-Sens wins.  As of last night he has matched the number of wins he had all last season.  The Senators will certainly have some major decisions to make when/if Brodeur ever gets better.  Brust is expected to get tonight off after starting 7 straight games.

Once again I need to mention the hustle and tenacity of Jim O'Brien.  It is incredible to me the difference from last season to this one.  If these guys can stay consistent they will be a force to reckon with.

It should also be noted that the B-Sens was one of the teams that handed first place team WBS one of their three losses.  They play them again on Sunday when maybe they can up that total.

Lehner should be in goal tonight when they play against the Hartford Wold Pack with a defenseman, some of you may remember by the name of WADE REDDEN.

Again last night the teams inconsistency showed when they lost in OT to the Hartford Wold Pack, (soon to be known as the Connecticut Whale  :smily677: )   If it weren't for the goalie, Barry Brust, they wouldn't have even gotten the one point.  Kleinendorst said as much in the after game interview.  Like I said, no one player stood out last night except for Barry.  Below is a video showing one of those times.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWR36Y7ccjk&feature=youtu.be&a

More pushing and shoving happened afterward but this is how it all started.   :ccclapping:   Too bad our goalie was the only one willing to stand up for Smith though.  I have a feeling if they try to send Barry down to Elmira soon, there may just be a riot in Binghamton.

Good on Brust to go after the cheap shot artist. Too bad he was the only one with the jewels to do it.
A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Isn't it the Whalers? And that would be almost bringing back the Hartford Whalers, from the old WHL and NHL.
