I don't hate Campoli, but we need to make space on the blue line and my attempts thus far to hire a hitman to take out Philip Kuba have been hampered by the fact that none of them want to go out in this snow. Honestly, you just can't find a properly committed assassin in this town.

Anyway, Campoli. Will be interested to see what's coming back, don't know what Campoli's cap hit is like but I hope that we get a prospect in return rather than just a warm body for the end of the season.

Edit: a warm body and a second. Not a bad return.

Some help for Bingo and a decent draft pick. Not bad. Trading Campoli likely means that no one would bite on either Kuba or Gonchar.

TSN is reporting that the second round pick is also conditional.

Aw that sucks. Poor guy.

Not my favorite defenseman, but he was a good soldier. Always showed up at STH events and was always very personable. He and Elliott both. Someone else will have to take over those jobs now.

No idea so far. If I were to take a shot in the dark, it would be that if the Hawks actually make the playoffs, both conditional picks are activated.

I'll guess the conditional coming back to Ottawa is determined if Campoli signs again with Hawks. he's and RFA this summer right?

OK, have a funny Campoli story to share that might be relevant today.

Was at a game with a buddy and upon returning to our seats with our beer my buddy says, "I'd like to introduce you to Chris Campoli's grandmother." So we were chatting with her and she was asking if we had kids in hockey, etc ... and then she said the funniest thing. She said, "I don't know about Chris' future with this team. We went down to the store and there weren't very many of his jerseys for sale."

I guess grandma was right.
