Jonathan Cheechoo was an AHL All-Star
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:12:02 PM »
Didn't find this anywhere else and I thought it would be interesting to show what Cheechoo has been up to. He was on the AHL All-Star team and was a starter.

He also has 47 points in 55 games. Remind me why we bought him out of his contract when we had him in the AHL already?

Because $3.5 mil is a lot of dough to pay someone who's not an NHL'er.

Yea but it is still $3.5 mil just spread out over two years and against the cap (not knowing that the cap wouldn't mean much to us now then).

It's not the same amount.  The buyout amount per year is $1.0 million, so Eugene is saving $1.5 million.
