Leather repair
« on: August 10, 2011, 04:15:08 PM »
Sorry for the completely obscure request here, but does anyone know of a really good place to get leather repaired / restored in Ottawa? I have been looking for a really nice classic leather case for a long time, and at the weekend I found a gorgeous 60's Mad Men style case in an antique store near Long Sault for the ridiculously bargainous price of ten bucks. However, it needs some TLC - one of the restraining loops is broken, there are old stickers on it and the whole thing just needs a really good clean and restoration.

Anyone ever used any place in Ottawa that they can recommend to restore my find to its former glory?

Although they deal primarily in leather garments, Gregory's Leather might be worth a shot.

I've heard Shoe Repair shops are able to perform work like this....might be worth checking out.

They did a great job repairing the zipper on my Gimp mask.

I asked them about that, they said it was a pretty simple job - apparently it just needed a good wash as the zipper was gummed up with what they called "indescribable substances". They did ask me to let you know that you were no longer welcome back in the store though.

Not pointing any fingers, but the degenerate FV seems to be the person who causes most of these "off topic" de-railings...
