The Oilers-Sens Feb. 11 game on HNIC will not be the national game. Alberta and Quebec and most of Ontario will get this game. The rest of the country gets the Jets-Penguins. It is surprising that the Feb. 15 game, Ottawa at Florida, is still untelevised!

The Feb. 15 game, Ottawa at Florida, will be shown to those only with Centre Ice. The scoreboard video and the Panthers radio feed will be used. http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=616924

The quality of these telecasts is a joke from what I have been told. The graphics are totally dated and the video feed too so be prepared to go back to the 70s and 80s. The NHL Network will presumably provide live look ins with this feed.

NHL Online feed looked to be in Standard Def, but hey...it was better than nothing.  Thankfully my co-worker has a subscription

it was interesting watching the game in SD, with an overlay video clock.  :duh   But the kicker was the "Lets make some noise!!!" and "Go Cats Go" Graphics   :A_laughing_matter:   It was an experience anyway

:icon_agree:   But I have to admit, I liked the commentators.  Knowledgeable, had good facts about the opposing team, they didn't go out of their way to compliment the Sens but certainly pointed out what they had been doing well in the game/season....a very balanced call overall.  Since the feed on my computer was about 50 seconds behind the call on the Team 1200, I had to listen to the Panthers' guys and they did a good job.  Unfortunately, fights were not covered on their feed so just got ad shots when there were dust-ups.  Definitely better than having nothing!

The online feed was the internal building feed to the scoreboard.  So if the Florida scoreboard is SD, then that's what we got.

The Florida play-by-play guy is a former NHL defenceman.  Don't know who the colour guy was or his history.

Good news, this Saturday the Pens-Sens will be the national game! :happy dance: The Rangers-Leafs game has been demoted to regional status.  :icon_thankyou:

Montreal and Winnipeg don't rate a spot on their chart? :smily677:

Its a Sportsnet map and Sportsnet doesn't have the regional broadcast rights for either team, so, no they don't.

CBCnutcase was talking about a CBC game, not a Sportsnet one.

I know, the regions maps are basically the same though......
Leafs own Broadcast rights in the green area on all channels.....

I hate that I pay for Sportsnet East but as soon as a Sens game is about to start it get's blacked out.  I understand why but I think it sucks.

I get Sportsnet East, Sportsnet East HD, Senstv and SensHD. The Sens channels are really good for nothing.. I maybe caught 4 games all year, and they are NEVER on the HD channel... Its never broadcast a damned thing....

When a game is on all channels say blacked out, but if I select Snet East its on.

Last night I started to watch the game on Sportsnet East HD and then it blacked out as soon as everyone was stepping onto the ice.. Then flicked over to Snet East non-hd and it was on, even though the channel said Off-Air.... I dont know why they refuse to keep broadcasting in HD if they still play it in non-HD..

Also, on Centre Ice the Sens games are never listed, but they are always on non-HD channel 454 which only says NHL CENTRE ICE. All other Channels say who is playing.

Stupid.

It plain sucks...I don't understand any reason for this.  I pay for the channel, I should get EVERYTHING that is broadcast on it.
Every other show on TV has to stand on their product...if you don't like it, don't watch it!!
Same should be true for sports teams...produce an inferior product, then your ratings should drop.  That might give them a little incentive to produce a good product.

That's the part I don't get.  The ratings aren't really going to drop at all and if the Leafs aren't even playing then what's the problem?

It's just messed up that the Leafs could have the night off, the Sens are playing and a channel I pay for blacks it out just as they're stepping on the ice.

At least now I know.  At first I'd watch the pregame stuff thinking the game was coming on and I'd be royally pissed.  I'm used to it now.   :laugh2:

I think MLSE is more worried that their fans might be able to compare the Leafs to other NHL teams?
