Problems with the quote feature
« on: September 17, 2011, 10:12:10 AM »
Is anyone else having issues since the board upgrade with the Quote feature? I find that when I click the Quote button to reply to a specific post I get a Loading banner at the top of the screen, but no quoted post appears in the text entry box.

Works fine for me.

Works for me. Maybe posting your browser + version to see if there's a trend. I use Firefox 6.

Do you have redirects disabled by any chance?

I remember a couple of years ago having similar issues. I think it was pop-ups being blocked, or something. Those having issues, try allowing pop-ups for Sensnetwork.com, and other similar browser "features". I'm pretty sure the answer lies somewhere there.

I'm using Safari (which is roughly the same engine as Chrome). I've found that it is in fact working sometimes and not others. Pop-ups are enabled so it isn't that.

IE 9 seems to work fine

I'm on Chrome - if it were a consistent problem it could be the browser, but the fact that it works sometimes but not others suggests the issue might be elsewhere.

If it's any help, if I click the Quote button it doesn't generally work, but if I write my response in the Quick Reply box and then click Quote it inserts the quote along with the tags.

I found a workaround - Go into your your account settings, and under Look and Layout, change your Quick Reply format to Non-WYSIWYG. Seems to fix it for me.

Interesting seems like a conflict when the WYSIWYG Quick Reply is on the page and you invoke this behavior on some browsers.

As a quick fix can we change the default setting for all users to the Non-WYSIWYG standard?

The setting fixed the issue here as well.
