Looking Ahead.... 2012/13 season..
« on: October 31, 2011, 11:09:45 AM »
Just looking at this in another thread and its quite interesting that we have alot of space next season.
We have 36.8 mill in contracts.
And the Emery/Cheecho/Alfie buyouts are finally off the books.

RFA
Da Costa
Foligno
Regin
Daugavins
Karlsson
Lee

UFA
Winchester
Konopka
Kuba
Carkner
Auld

I expect a few to not return for sure, but it's going to be interesting how it all plays out since our guys are playing for contracts....

I'm not too stoked on the UFA list next season, though there are a few good players available.

I thought Kuba had looked moderately improved so far this season. That would explain why.
We all dream of a team of Chris Kellys.

He was nice enough to play his best game on a national broadcast for all the GMs to see.

Funny thing, some people didn't give a $hit that we traded Kelly, but he really is a valuable player and Boston new that, as he was a good piece to the puzzle to winning a Stanley Cup!

Thank god Greening is turning out to be a great player!~

Ya, it's true that some people didn't but I wasn't one of them.  I always liked what Kelly brought and even though he wasn't an offensive juggernaught he was definitely invaluabe in other areas.

I was definitely on that side of the argument.

I said at the time that I was more surprised by the Kelly trade than Fisher.  But, young guys like Condra, K-Dawg and Greening are filling the void nicely.

Doolox, I don't think it's early at all.
It's a good way to keep track of fringe/upcoming FA's without starting a new thread for every single little thing.....

Should be: around $3 million per year max.

Will be: $5-6 million.

I believe they actually call him "the dog man".   8)

Eww.

Well it's a better nickname than 99% of hockey nicknames that consist of adding -ie or -er to your first or last name.
