I drive a 4.0 Jeep Wrangler and a Grand Prix and my daily commute is 100km. It hurts.
People only have so much money. If they spend more on gas, they spend less elsewhere. This can and will affect the economy all over. Less people will go to the movies, people will delay the purchase of that new couch to replace the beat-up one, etc.
CBC reporting that Ontario can expect a price jump tonight, as much as 4.5¢ per litre.
Wish I heard that last night! Really the only way I can think of fighting it is when it's high I only put around $10 of gas in the tank, and when it goes down, I fill up. If everyone paid very little when it was high, they would suffer a little bit!
