hows it going sen's fans it's been a great series by both teams so far, and the rangers and the sens fans can agree on one thing the refs have been horrible!! but aside from that both teams have been pretty even the goalies have put on a show. As a Rangers fan though the Sens have put up a great series and could see why everyone thought it was a bad match up. Game 7 should be amazing and no matter what happens both teams can walk away and say they pushed the other to the limit. To be honest not just cause I'm a Rangers fan but as a hockey fan i feel like the rangers have the sens on there heels and if they get on them early it may hurt the confidence on that side of the bench. but good luck sens fans its been a fun series to watch !

The pressure is all on the Rangers to win it.  Game 7 in front of their own home crowd....   Its going to be tense for them.  After all the Sens are in the beginning of a rebuilding phase and have exceeded all expectations this year.  The Sens have nothing to lose whereas the Rangers have everything to lose.
Time passes, things change, the Sens WILL WIN the CUP.
edit -  Hopefully within my lifetime.......

^^Sums up my thoughts to a "T"!  I have taken the entire season, and now the playoffs, at a "one game at a time" pace due to the rebuild.  The Sens have gone way over what I expected of them this year.  Game 7 is next.  Time will tell how they do but,  in the end, I look forward to watching them build.  They've got an amazing foundation.  It's all good for me as a Sens fan.

Wouldn't be the first time. Usually it's not "free" but in exchange for a non-perishable food item. And with the new big screens, it would/will make it a much better experience.

I didn't hear about Lundqvist's comments until I read the paper this morning.  Oh man, is he serious about the refs determining the outcome against the Rags?  Did he miss the BS call against Foligno for goaltender interference?  Or the non-call on Richards for lumberchopping at Neil?  Did he miss all the other BS calls/non-calls that went in favour of the Rags?  This guy is a friggin idiot and should be suspended/HEAVILY fined for suggesting the officials are fixing games.  It's one thing to complain about them but another to go on record and say what he did.

There were a lot of bad calls in that game against both teams.  He should be fined for what he said, but I don't think I'd call him an idiot.  The suggestion that the NHL would rather have a small market team advance over New York City is crazy though.

I think he was just frustrated by the Spezza goal.  How they missed the interference on that is incredible, then you add in the kick or kicks  :laugh2:  and he was obviously upset and didn't have enough time to calm down before the media got to him.

Calls were missed for both teams and weak calls were made on both teams.Until they find a way to call a fair game they will be open to this sort of thing. It's the leagues fault for letting people think like this.Play fair

Doors open at SBP at 6:00 pm for the game.  Bert's opens at 5:00 p.m.  Parking is free.  No charge but a donation of non-perishable food is appreciated.  The HD screen will be lowered for the showing of Game 7 from MSG.  Beer will be available as some of the concessions will be open.

Game 7, can't wait.   I actually feel a lot better about this game than game 6.

All season the Sens were their best, backs against the wall, written off by all the experts and a lot of fans.  There were a ton of times when some wins would be really nice and they didn't do it - chances to push ahead of the Bruins, or the week with multiple Habs and Leafs games when they went flat.  Then they would get into must win games, and pull out wins against the heavy weights that weren't expected.

For Game 6 they were kicking back at home, had won two in a row, and getting atta boys all over the place.  No to mention, the Rangers also just don't lose many 3 times in a row either.

So on to game 7, where penalty calls will be far and few between, and don't expect any 5 on 3s for so-so calls.  More importantly, the team should be pumped enough to not melt down like they did after the 5 on 3 goal, which was the real game 6 killer.

Must win, backs against wall, going to hostile enemy territory, Sens have them right where they want them!

Disagreed!

Oh well, they just couldn't win it when the pressure was on. They had what it took to win this series, but just couldn't get it done. Although a growing team, there's some serious question marks around some of the vets on this team going into next year.
Luongo sucks.

Man, you sure are one gloomy bastard arent ya? :)

Sure they turned the puck over A LOT, had a crapton of their shots blocked by the Rags, ran into Lundqvist and generally played bad at times; however, they were picked to finish last in the east (yes, even lower than the Leafs and Habs) but took one of the league's best to a game 7.  To me, that's a bonus any way you look at it.  If Alfie retires and they move Spezza (please) maybe they can get some good pieces to add to the rebuild (or w/e this is called).

Come on.  We are back to trading Spezza now?

Listen, I'll be first to say that Spezza was non existent in this series.  Heck, I said it after every turnover he made...and it seemed like he turned it over every time he touched the puck.  But we are not trading him and we shouldn't trade him.  He had a great year (80+ points) and he more importantly he made the players around him all the better. I can't to see what he does next year.

He will be the next Captain of the Ottawa Senators when Alfie retires and he should be.

He doesn't have the leadership quality you need in a captain. He can't elevate the team when the team needs it the most, and has a hard time getting things done in must win situations.

The captain isn't coasting back to watch a D man score the game winning goal in a game 7 scenario. A captain doesn't turn the puck over all the time and need constant consultations from his coach etc to help understand wtf is going on out on the ice...

There's plenty of arguments against what I said, and I am not 'back to trading Spezza' I never left. Although I was happy with his progress this year. However if he got dealt I wouldn't be upset.

And Jason I am not being gloomy. Im frustrated. Sens had them right where they wanted and couldn't seal the deal. 8th place, whatever, they were the better team in enough games of this series to win.

And look who is left in West? East? It could have been such a great story. Instead its the same ol 1st round exit. I look forward to the team growing and all that. We are in a good position from a growth standpoint.

However, the opportunity to head to the cup was def there had they found a way to win.

Spezza will not wear a C for the Sens....I just hope we trade him to someone in our division so we can get a good pass every once and a while...  :bag:
