The latest Hollywood rip-off
« on: July 30, 2012, 03:02:46 PM »
Peter Jackson just announced today that The Hobbit will now be 3 movies instead of 2. WTF?!?!?

The Lord of the Rings, the smallest of the three paperbacks is about 440 pages, and this was 3 movies. The Hobbit is one, small book of 280 pages, and they somehow stretch it to 3 movies? What a freakin' joke.

Not that I would ever go to such a movie, but how can you complain about a series of movies that you haven't seen yet?

Maybe they will all be great and instead of being entertained twice you will get to enjoy seeing 3 movies?

It probably will be great, but stretching it out over three movies seems excessive. ANd likely having to wait a year in between releases is a drag...

Simple: filler. There simply isn't enough material to make up 3 movies. So it's obvious that this was a $$$$$$$$$$$ decision and there will be useless bits in the movie added with the only intent to stretch the movies.

Saw the trailer for it this past weekend ..... definitely not something I'm interested in seeing but certainly looks elaborate.
