Another monkey sent packing!

o for 6 in elimination games was more a gorilla than a monkey and I'm sure glad that streak was busted.    Win or lose this series, the Sens didn't fold the tent and bow out in 5, at home.

Losing last night would have been a distaster and led to so much
teeth gnashing and fan anxiety in town that my head might have exploded.

Devil fans may wonder what the big deal is, but the Sens have bowed out in ugly fashion over the last few years.  Losing was one thing, but going down the way they did is what really stuck in the craw of many fans.

Exactly! Seeing them lose 3 straight was tough. To be honest, if the Sens had to lose I would rather see a game 7 OT loss then lose 4 straight. A game 7 OT loss would be absolutely DEVASTATING but in the long run you would feel better about it. Going down like a sinking ship may be not be so initially heartbreaking, but it leaves a bitter aftertaste. My $0.02.

Anyway, they came out hard last night and I'm glad they didn't just fold. IF we lose game 6 I'll feel a little better after the home win, but a little spark of optimism has returned in me! Although I won't be too optimistic. It worked for the outcome of game 5 for me ;)

Still a tough road ahead.

Maybe Maggie will be sent packing, too. I guess the point was made that a monkey spinning a wheel of misfortune was as good as most of those professional sports prognosticators.

At least if they bow out in 6 or 7 it won't completely look like they choked, maybe just losing to a better team.

You can be a Sens fan and like players on other teams too you know. Personally, I've followed and admired Brodeur's career since he began as a rookie. I also loved Patrick Lalime when he was a Penguin..... I was extremely happy when Ottawa picked him up.

yup. I'm a Sens fan but I also love Sundin, Sakic, Forsberg, and Thornton.

Suprised no one has asked me before lol!

Anyway, in the pic Marty looks sad/dissapointed after just letting in a goal, in contrast to the happiness of Fisher and Lalime in my sig. Sad Marty = Happy me! ;) I know you can't really see it though since the pic has been shrunken so much for my avatar. Plus, I AM a big fan of him too. I think he's brilliant. Don't get me wrong though, he's certainly the enemy at the moment! :P

Ya I figured it was something along that line. I cannot hate any Canadian players in the NHL. There are so many

And like you, I only cheer for them when they are not playing the Sens.
