Anything But Hockey / Smells fishy....
« on: November 20, 2008, 08:23:42 PM »
Why do manhole covers in my area have a fish design on 'em? It's a Christian Fish design to boot, you know, that stylized fish symbol meaning "Jesus Loves You!" ?   I just freaking noticed that this evening, walking the dog, and an overhead street light caught it at the right angle.

Anything But Hockey / = Legend Limousine?
« on: November 10, 2008, 04:27:38 PM »
So I'm late to the party getting winter tires for my new truck. What, I have a business to run! :laugh2:  Of course, you have to start shopping in July, now, with the freaking new Quebec law. They have all the winter tires!  :icon_hissyfit2:

So I finally find 4 tires via because NOBODY at a brick and mortar tire shop has my size left, but it seems fishy. The address for pickup is 1446 Scott St, which I find out is Legend Limousine. WTF? A limousine service into internet tire sales? Have any of you guys ordered via this website? This is the kind of thing credit cards are billed to when johns are out looking to lay rubber... not drive on it!  :suspicious   :smily1263:

Anything But Hockey / Xbox gamers - Best place to buy
« on: November 05, 2008, 01:37:19 PM »
Kids want an Xbox for Xmas, genius marketing eh? xxoo   So, typically, do you gamers buy these systems at Future Shop/Best Buy/Wal-Mart or is there some place else that has better value I'm not thinking about? Perhaps a strictly gaming store is what you use?  :smily677:

I see FS&BB have a Holiday $399 bundle deal. Thing is, what kind of bundle is that? You need at least 1 more wireless controller (preferably 3 more) rechargeable packs and/or plug and play thingie and another headset or 3.

Yes, Daddy wants the big 120 GB Elite model for storage etc... And what's with Not Available in Canada for the their Xbox Marketplace thingie I'm reading online, still no go after how many years open in the States?

So, where does one get the best price on Xbox systems? And should I wait for the economy to take a dump?  :laugh2:

Any ideas? It's for a male. How about a shop/store that would carry such items?  :icon_bowdown2:

Sens Talk / Game vs Buffalo not on tv, right?

I can't find it anywhere on tv guides. Is this one of those games not on regular cable?

Sens Talk / Kevin Lee gone from hockeybuzz
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:44:08 PM »
Holy crap! I haven't been to since the trade deadline stuff and see that the former Bruins blogger, Gerry Bourdeau, took over the Sens blog from Kevin Lee. All I want to know is why did Kevin leave? He just had enough? He finally got a full-time gig somewhere? Got canned by Eek!land for plagiarizing other sites and/or making up crap? Pot/kettle/black.  :laugh2:  Where the hell is Kevin Lee now and why do I give a flying rat's ass about such bullchips??

Anything But Hockey / Full Contact Zone tracker, wassahappening?
« on: October 03, 2008, 07:54:53 PM »
I used to get awesome MMA stuff, a great resource, from:

But it's been down for a couple of weeks without warning to me.  Anyone follow its demise? Is it going to come back? What da hell happened, it was great!  8)

Been looking all over for the complete event but will settle for clips of Kulka's fight. Torrent sites and newsgroups don't have it, the ones I know of anyways, and not even Youtube has a short clip.  Can anyone hook a brother up? Moxie, I'm talking to you!

To steal each other's copy....  :laugh2:

Hey, bloggers have had a field day with The Sens since Trade Deadline time, veritable blogger darlings.  :spin:   I just came across this one, below. Have you guys followed him? Closer to JC or to EK? Decent dude with real scoops?

"Update 2:30pm:
Ladies and Gentlemen, news is comming slowly but it seems there is a bit of a log jam over at the NHL in NYC. The trade LOOKS done, not 100% confirmed. Waiting on concrete confirmation.... when I know, you'll know... but is a commin!!!"

I won't link to him in case he's more of the same BS like Lee. But if you read him, you'll recognize the quote...

This is soooooooo funny on so many levels. Quinton Jackson just lost his UFC mixed martial arts title over the weekend and I like the guy; he's pretty funny (perhaps it's laughing at him) and usually gives you a great fight, everything he's got. Anyways, it looks like he got hit in the head one too many times. He was involved in a hit and run today, being the driver no less, and tried to elude police who happened to be at the scene of the crime.  :icon_fryingpan:  Now, check out what he was driving and *escaping* with:

A freaking MONSTER truck with his humongous logo/picture and name on it!  :A_laughing_matter:

Guess what he bills himself as, his MMA nickname so to speak.  That's right.... "RAMPAGE JACKSON". And you think Emery was outrageous with a white Hummer.  :laugh2:  Truth is stranger than fiction folks.... :ridiculous:

Sens Talk / Sens trade rumours galore today, Spezza hot:
« on: June 19, 2008, 12:50:49 PM »
Just a function of us being the hosts? Talk of the web...

"It's believed the Senators have been discussing the possibility of moving center Jason Spezza, and there seems to be a few teams interested.

One rumor floating around has the Senators shipping Spezza and restricted free agent defenseman Andrej Meszaros to the Panthers for Jokinen and RFA blueliner Jay Bouwmeester. Murray and Panthers GM Jacques Martin were unavailable for comment."

Gotta be a joke, right? Martin looked to be having a coronary whenever he dared play Spezza.  :laugh2:

Anything But Hockey / Who was that guy at Fratelli?
« on: May 04, 2008, 05:28:03 PM »
So the wife and I are having an excellent dinner Saturday night, at Fratelli (new lobster ravioli on the menu comes highly recommended par moi ), off of St-Patrick and I see a guy walk in with a wire in his ear. He nods to the hostess, she nods back and a family of four come in and are immediately seated. The guy with the wire sits down at the bar which is pretty much directly in front of the door. Another security guy with a wire goes to the washroom with the person in question. Outside, is a van, idling for rapid get-a-way if need be (hah, what about the stupid idling by-laws now, eh?! Oh YEah, different rules for the elite; do as I say, not as I do, a la Gore.  :icon_vomit: ) with another dude with a wire in his ear. So, that makes 3 security people with wires on 'em, protecting this family. The man is about 60 years old, looks kinda like Clyde Wells and has blond/yellow hair, but is not him. His wife is Oriental and the 2 daughters, about 10 years old, one is caucasian and the other is oriental. Now, perhaps one of the kids was adopted or second marriage stuff going on or maybe they are just friends, whatever. It should be pretty easy to figure out what politician, business tycoon, entertainment star etc... this dude is, just by observing the family make-up. Yes, I asked the security guy in the van upon leaving but he wouldn't tell me, of course, did it for a lark. I just wanted to know in what field this dude was in to narrow my search.  :laugh2:

So, who was that uber rich or political guy, a 60 year old with an Oriental wife. It's bugging the crap outta me!  :duh

Anything But Hockey / Sportsnet for the past 2 hours....
« on: April 26, 2008, 10:57:26 PM »
has been nothing but black. What the hell is going on? Normally, during technical difficulties problems, they'll scroll something, some information. But it's just black. Is this a planned outtage I didn't hear about and not technical difficulties? This is completely unprecedented. Sportsnet's website says:

Now Playing: TBA    Coming up next: TBA

WTF?  Wassagoinon?
