Team1200?
« on: October 21, 2006, 04:47:39 PM »
I'm just curious if you guys have heard from Team 1200 at all, or if there is any chance you could get the show played there?

The show, imho, is as good or better then any of the local stuff they play, and certainly better than the American sports feeds they play (just brutal, seriously).

On weekends anyway, there is never anything decent on the radio, surely they can find an hour somewhere to play your show.

I mean, for a podcast that seemed to start with just a few buddies chilling, drinking beer, and talking hockey, it has really grown into something special.   Getting guests like Pierre McGuire on it?   That's impressive.   I've listened to a few other hockey related podcasts, and I've never heard anything nearly as professional.

Anyway, I'll stop sucking up now.   Just curious, I'm sure you could help with the Team's ratings, and being connected to them could only help you guys.

I've been listening since last season, I started listening at like episode 10.
Big fan.

I totally agree, they've really grown into something amazing.
I think being played on TEAM1200 would be amazing.
I only listen to TEAM1200 during games but if they played Sens Underground on Team I'd listen to it more often.

Plus their popularity would go through the roof.

Maybe some emails could do something?

I know JR from moreon sports, I dunno if he has any pull, but I'll mention it to him next time we talk.   Can't hurt, I guess.

Hey guys... thanks again for the kind words.

We thought about approaching The Team before but we weren't sure how we'd be received.  We didn't know if they would welcome us or view us as competition.  We then decided that it would be better to gain more popularity and then approach the Senators first... and that is what we did.

We're meeting with the Senators this coming Monday to workout some details on how we can work together... that can only help us in the future with interviews or any involvement with Team 1200.

We're in no hurry really... we're just having a blast doing this.

If you approached the Team 1200 i doubt they would see you as competition. You are doing a 1 hour show, not a 24/7 radio broadcast. All yoru asking is that you might be considered to be part of a 1 hour segment of the show. I think your proposal to them woudl be better received than you think.

Then again, we're talking about a company that fired Dave Gross and kept Glen Kulka...

True enough!

It's a good idea... will have to discuss it with the boys.  Russell knows Stuntman Stu pretty well so we'll get an idea of what those guys at Team 1200 think of us once Stu officially starts work there.  We'll play it by ear.

Right now, we're pretty excited about our meeting with the Sens on Monday!  We'll see what that'll bring...

That's a great idea. Anything that takes away from airtime for American college football.

The idea of bringing together the Team1200 and Sensunderground would be awesome. I mean first you start with TGOR then you got over the Edge and then Jim Rome followed by Moron Sports and to cap it all off you got sensunderground. Now that would be a perfect Team1200 Ottawa senators sports radio.

Keep in mind that SensUnderground is a weekly podcast, not an everyday one...

Also, Team1200 used to have a good show called 'In The Zone' from 7pm to 10pm on non game nights a few years ago. It was hosted by Lee Versage and Scott McArthur. Too bad they never brought it back after that season...

They had it the season before the lockout too...
